We have stayed at the Crab Manor before in the main building in the Mount Nelson room however this time we decided to pay the extra for an outside room. We booked the Raffles room which is just outside the main building and has its own personal hot tub and sauna. A tip is to arrive early so that you... More

We decided to take our friends for their 25th wedding anniversary we booked the Taj Mahal room. On arrival the small reception was very busy but we were made to feel welcome and once checked in we were taken through the beautiful gardens to our room which was lovely with its own hot tub. I think though we lived it... More

Lucky enough to stay in Raffles room, it was pure luxury, covered hot tub, sauna in the the room, gorgeous roll top bath, luxurious toiletries all add to the pure indulgence of staying here. The staff are so professional yet friendly and attentive. We ate in the restaurant for evening meal, salmon for me was deliciously tantalising on my taste... More

Great service - welcoming, friendly and personable. Amazing food - twice baked cheese soufflé was gorgeous, prawn bocker glory was delicious (especially the cucumber jelly), main courses of fillet steak and asenby lamb - both stunning. Was too stuffed for puddings, but previous visits tell me it would have been good. Highly recommend, may be a little expensive in comparison... More

Haven't been for a few years but a large party of 12 for a birthday celebration. The pick of the starters was the cheese soufflé - deliciously light but oh so tasty. The votes for mains were prawns and flatbreads and melt in your mouth beef brisket. Service attentive and the environment is so quirky but relaxed - a million... More

My Wife and I went last night for our wedding anniversary. It's our number one destination of choice locally and is always excellent. The entrance to the place isn't always obvious and it can be a challenge to people that wander around the conservatory looking for a way in. Food wise I had the smoked fish platter and my Wife... Having seen excellent reviews on TripAdvisor we were hoping for a really enjoyable evening for a family celebration. The decor of the restaurant is, to be polite, quirky, and not to everyone's taste. The menu sounded interesting and promised lots, but the reality of the experience was very disappointing. The food was mediocre and overpriced. "Aged" sirloin steak was, well,... More

We recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and where better to have lunch! It was a busy Saturday of the bank holiday weekend but we knew it would not be a problem. There were 5 of us and I believe we had the last seats in the whole restaurant but were made to feel as though we were the only... More

Four of us went for lunch. We all chose the lunch menu.Something for everyone with lots of choices.£20 for two courses or £23 for three.Coffe and chocolates were £4 extra. Our best courses were two of the starters - the mussels and the chicken parfait .Service was exceptionally good.Definitely worth a repeat visit.
