Stayed in Aysgarth for the weekend in Stowe House. Sara our landlady for weekend booked a table for us in George and Dragon for our Friday night meal. It's a short walk perhaps 10-15 minutes. It's a traditional pub with great food. We were sat very promptly. I chose a Greek cheese in filo pastry dish to start followed by... More

Stopped off for lunch here , ate in the bar as I had the pooch with me. Lovely little pub, warm and welcoming with friendly landlord and other chatty customers.

Well, what a bizarre beginning to our visit here. The landlord was a tad unfriendly when we arrived and was all doom and gloom. However, he eventually warmed to us and - in the end - everything was great. we think maybe he thought it was going to be a quiet lunchtime but the place soon filled up with us... More

Don't bother place near the falls is better. Understandable there was a lack of staff but could not forgive cold food and dirty glass with lipstick stains (took 3 attempts to get a clean glass!)

After a long day hiking myself and friends planned to visit the restaurant for our evening meal. The owner was very rude. We sat down at a table and asked for a menu. He came and then removed all cutlery etc from our table and announced they were no longer serving. According to the website and door they stop serving... More

We were recommended this place and received a warm welcome from the locals that were drinking in there. Food was lovely if not a little over priced for what we received. My husband had the steak and ale pie and said it was tasty, my group ordered three other meals but only received one bowl of vegetables which in our... More

5 of us went for Sunday lunch and it was lovely. Despite being very busy, the service was exellent. The food was beautiful. The meat was so tender and the yorkshire puds huge. Great place to eat. Lovely friendly pub. We've been going for years now and cannot fault it. Food is always beautifully presented and they can't do enough... More

Description
The George and Dragon Inn is a timeless Victorian gastro pub nestled in the Yorkshire Dales National Park complete with a crackling log fire, traditional ales on tap, a patio with views of Pen Hill and rustic walls decorated with framed sketches. We couldn't think of a cosier place to settle in with a bottle of red than the George and Dragon Inn's down-to-earth dining room, and apparently we're not the only ones. With one AA Rosette under its belt, the restaurant is a popular spot for Sunday roasts, afternoon tea and hearty evening meals, and the modern British menu includes signature dishes such as the roast Nidderdale chicken breast served with smoked applewood risotto.
