Daughters birthday we drove 130 miles from the Lake District for Lunch.Nice menu plus specials we all enjoyed all we ordered.Little Surprised they did not have a dry rose wine by the glass the one they gave us was very sweet therefore we switched to Merlot.Excellent service and a Can do staff attitude.

Thank you for your review and indeed the marathon round trip. Not sure quite which rose we had on when you came as we change around but the current two are Montaud a Frenchy that is dry and A Spanish Castillo which is moire fruity, i think you might have had this one. Thanks again for your thoughts. Regards Cb More

Just been here for Sunday lunch with 5 other 'foodies'. It was my first time and I was expecting well above average food given the reputation of the place. Sadly this was lacking - I would say the food was no better than average for the price. However, the building has a light airy feel, the staff are polite and... More

Many thanks for your feedback and sorry you were under whelmed by our bar food, it should be pretty good. I understand your point about bar drinks but we are an old inn not a restaurant and it sort of changes the nature of what we are if you have dining room service in the bars, we obviously do table... We have just returned from a mini break at this Inn. A friend recommended it. We were not disappointed , from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome . We had booked a river view room, the room and view stunning and so relaxing . Evening meal was taken at the restaurant, again all the staff we... More

This establishment has one of the best views of the whole county and is well worth travelling to it just to see it, but it would be a shame to miss out on the food and drink on offer. Have to say the red wine (merlot) is always served at the right temperature, nothing worse for me than cold red... More

This place always gets it mostly right . Always busy and food always consistently good. Always love going to eat there. One slight negative is having to queue for a considerably long time to order food and drinks . I think this needs addressing .

Thank you for your thoughts and sorry about the queue, just rather tricky to know who's and how many are coming on any day, if we change to booking only we turn from a pub to a restaurant but we do book tables in the dinning room. Thanks again. Regards Cb More

We visited the Inn at Whitewell in February 2017. We have been many time as it is our favourite place to stay when needing piece and quiet, fab food and the most wonderful comfortable and spacious bedrooms. To us we feel its like coming home. Warm welcome, delicious wine, open fires lit to sit by following a long walk.

Stayed here one night for cousin's wedding last year. It really is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by fields and wood. Shortbread and tea was included with the room so we ordered that soon after arriving and it was good. The room was a nice size and comfortable. The cooked breakfast was fine.

My husband booked a surprise overnight stay here for my birthday, I wish we could have stayed longer! Had an amazing room, no 22 in the Coach House. We had lunch and a couple of pints in the bar prior to checking in, food was delicious! We also had a table booked for dinner, again the food was amazing! Beautiful... More

Beautiful place to visit and a lovely dining experience in fantastic surroundings. It's way off the track in a fabulous location, so you do need a sat nav. Extensive menu suitable for all tastes. Chose your own table -- fast service, lovely staff and excellent food at mid price range. Well worth a return visit. Highly recommended.

It's a while since our previous visit, but good to see that The Inn at Whitewell is still as good as ever. Bustling on a snowy, cold Sunday afternoon. Even though there was hardly a seat left in the house, we enjoyed a lovely lunch, served without too much of a delay.

Thank you for taking the time to drop us a review, it is kind and appreciated and I'm glad you risked the roads in the snow, actually we never really get that much in the valley, much to the disappointment of my kids, thanks again. regards Cb More
