Called here for lunch the other day and had some of the best fish and chips we have tasted for a long time. Nice light batter, lovely flakey haddock, great chips and mushy peas. This accompanied by a well kept pint of bitter made for an ideal lunch. Our compliments to the chef and staff.

Been to other pubs in the area, though to give this a try. Parking will be a challange when the pub is busy but we got there just after noon and got parking in the road 50 yards or so from the pub. Lovely old building, a number of separate rooms, many with small coal fires, very nice. Dog friendly... More

Thank you for your review. We are very glad to hear you enjoyed our homemade leek and ham pie and homemade quiche, our chefs work hard in the kitchen and its lovely to hear your commendation. This has been passed on to the chefs. Parking can be a little trick in Waddington, there is the village park down the lane... More

We were on holiday nearby and had read the reviews about the area. We enjoyed a Sunday roast. We managed to get a table without to much of a wait. Although just after we sat down people were turned away as they were fully booked. I would definitely visit again if we return to the area.

The Lower Buck also has a holiday cottage at the side of the pub, perhaps for your next visit. We are so glad you enjoyed our Sunday Roast, one of our best sellers.... More

This is a traditional pub with no televisions or gaming machines or juke box, a place for eating ,drinking and talking. It was a pity that 3 of the 4 pies on offer were not available and neither was the quiche. We still enjoyed our lunches and the ambience was as important as he food

Comfy inviting choices of seating, free papers available. Waited almost an hour for the food on this busy day but was easily worth it, roast dinner was enormous and absolutely tasty. Nice pot of tea kept us going and friendly chats with locals. Staff work very hard, running up and down stairs with meals. Tricky to park in the village... More

At last I think we have a non chain eatery in the Clitheroe area that doesn't pretend to be something it isn't and hide behind famous names and big marketing budgets. It's a beautiful, traditional village pub, of the variety that is much threatened by over development by "gastro chains" and under use. We visited mid week at about six.... More

Waddington is a lovely Village with three great restaurants, all serving great local food and very good beer. All three have seating outside, so on a nice day well worth a visit to Waddington. Lancashire at its best, enjoy.

This place remains a quite splendid old village pub. The smart interior retains the original four rooms, the staff are wonderful and there’s a great atmosphere with beer to match. The centre of activity is the front bar where there are large scrubbed topped tables that seem to encourage people to share the space and chat. A selection of newspapers... More

Only found this little gem of a pub on a wander round the village. It's a beautiful old building as are all the pubs in Waddington. Lovely, friendly landlady. We had already eaten but wish we hadn't as the menu sounded lovely. Can't wait to come back and eat here.
