Appreciate the pub is "dog friendly" have no problem with that. Do have a problem paying "a la carte" prices to have someone elses dog resting on my foot and a GIANT FLEA in my glass of merlot. We bought this to the attention of the Manager who refunded the glass of wine. This morning I called to speak to... More

Enjoyed a tasty lunch here on a sunny spring day, sitting outside on the terrace. Some excellent cheese from the highly regarded Cheesemakers of Canterbury (plus Stilton) had as a main course, and followed by home-made strawberry ice cream ... and, of course, a pint of Adnams beer. A very friendly and comfortable Inn, by the creek - and just... More

A beautifully decorated gastropub with a very comfortable feel to it, overlooking the boatyards and the water. We all enjoyed our lunch which was well cooked - Ship's burger, saffron risotto, sausages and mash, venison pie and a sandwich. The homemade ice cream (especially the salted caramel and raspberry ripple)hit the spot afterwards. Would definitely return if we had the... More

I visited here last week on a business lunch with 6 others. The waitresses were attentive and gave us plenty of time to order. I had the meats board to start which was lovely but the shrimp looked amazing too! I had grilled cod for main and again it was fantastic and a generous portion. The only downside was the... More

Came here with my mum and 2 year old daughter today to celebrate mothersday. We also brought along my mums dog as they are welcome here. We were served by friendly waiting staff who chatted to my daughter and made a fuss of the dog. We ordered the popcorn shrimp roll which came with chips and a chicken club sandwich... More

Called in here for a light lunch. Haven't been here for over 30 years and of course it's all changed. Been updated and is a very pleasant pub with log fire and plenty of nooks and crannies to sit in. Lunch was pleasant and very tasty. My only reservation was that the initial welcome was slightly offish. Maybe just that... More

This is a truly delightful pub in a relatively strange location. The food is always great (if a bit slow) and there is a good selection of beers available. The menu changes regularly and there is a good choice. After a meal it has the advantage of being well placed to go for a walk. Define you worth visiting but... More

Party of four we had pre booked for 7.15 as offered started with sharing platters and picked their traditional fish and chips which was lovely. The fish was moist and fresh and the batter was not greasy but light and crisp. My only big disappointment was the treacle tart it was so over powered by the added flavour that I... More

We visited The Ship Inn in November 2016 for lunch. The cauliflower soup and fish and chips were amazing, although a little expensive for pub grub, it was worth every penny. We will go back. Staff friendly and polite. Lisa & Ade

Was looking forward to goin back to the Ship as previous visits have been great, unfortunately won't be goin back for a while as Friday wasn't the best of experiences and I don't like attitude.... I ordered Calves Liver/mash and I've had this dish here before without complaint but tonight was not good, I fact it was downright appalling, it... More
