Welcome to The George & Dragon Inn, Sandwich. This property dates from 1446 and has been a licensed inn since 1552. It has undergone many changes since it was built, but from the day it was first licensed over four centuries ago the house has never closed. At present business partners Sarah Boxall and Stephen Wren have the pleasure of running this historical inn. They deliver an outstanding range of traditional food and drink with a modern twist that caters to the needs of every customer. Head Chef Aaron and his team (Marc and Dan) create a new adventurous evening menu every fortnight using as much local produce as possible. Sarah and Stephen have kept this little gem of a pub oozing with charm…

A disaster, no wonder this was the only place with space!
Vegetables over cooked like baby food, meat so tough and dry, gravy so salty, Yorkshire pud exploded in a dust cloud when you touched it!
Arrived today for our lunchtime reservation only to find it closed! Notice on the window saying closed until further notice and all bookings had been informed. Well I had not been informed. Had our lunch somewhere else but not what we had wanted. Disappointed!

Having had so many good meals here in the past we were not put off by the news article we read re recent Hygeine rating and thought we’d keep to out booking.
Restaurant was virtually empty - not a good sign. Menu was limited 4...More
What a fantastic pub this really is. Food was absolutely top notch, and the service even better. The Wild Mushroom gateau was genius followed by one of the best steaks I've ever had. Thanks to Hayley and her team for looking after us, especially the...More
