To be fair we were not charged for one of the plates of food served to us which has to be the worst that has been put in front of me. It resembled hospital food and tasted like a very bad school dinner. It came...More
We visited The Vaults today at lunch time the 23rd November 2017. We chose the Risotto. The food that was delivered was overcooked rice, with three pieces of sliced mushroom and a very heavy seasoning of pepper. This was in a cereal bowl and looked...More
Steaks ordered were very good cuts with no gristle and well cooked. Add on sauces like peppercorn and blue cheese were tiny and blue cheese sauce had no blue cheese in it so was left. Chips became like cardboard very quickly. Seemed like the third...More
Been here quite a few time now and on every occasion whoever the staff may be they are always polite and very friendly. Beer is good with a nice selection, decent garden and decent food. What more do you need.
Rachael thank you so much for this lovely review! I will pass this onto the team. We hope to see you again soon.
Stopped off for Sunday lunch mainly perhaps because of the fine ales on offer. Wasn't disappointed by them, or by the food. Not gastronomic, but didn't expect it to be, and it was good value for the money.
Thank you for leaving this review. Glad you enjoyed the ales, we have a local one on all the time as well as local ciders next to the bigger brand ones. We hope to see you again soon.
Not much to mention, boring choice of beers not kept well at all at an inflated price, run of the mill food and the toilets are disgusting (you wipe feet on the way out). large garden not kept very well, barmaid more interested in her...More
Really sorry that you did not have a good experience. We always stock Black Sheep best bitter as our customers like it. Along side that we have another national or regional brewery. And we then have a Mad Cat one which is brewed in Faversham....More

We found this in Camra Good Beer Guide 2017 and were not disappointed. Lovely 16th century pub with great food. Staff were helpful, friendly and ensured my meal was gluten free. If we are staying in Kent again we would definitely visit.
Cathy thank you so much for you excellent review. I will pass your comments onto the team. We are always happy to cater for dietary requirements and we hope you visit our lively town again soon.
Freshly cooked..waited about 25 minutes..delicious! Bar staff are super friendly. My son in law had something like Hunters Chicken and said it was the best he had ever had.. lovely!
Thank you so much for the lovely review. I will pass your comments onto the staff. The hunters chicken is made from scratch not a bag in a microwave with locally sourced products. We hope to see you again soon.
