The Glasshouse restaurant is tucked away inside The Grove at Chandler's Cross - a luxury country house hotel set in 300 acres of woodlands in Hertfordshire. This lively, informal restaurant is nicknamed the 'theatre of cooking' as its chef prepare British, Asian and Mediterranean dishes in spectacular style, then serve them buffet-style for everyone to enjoy. The Glasshouse is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the dining room is decorated with contemporary chandeliers, a backlit bar, floor to ceiling windows with views of the hotel's formal gardens, and designer chairs. Popular with fashionable hotel residents and locals for breakfast meetings, business lunches and relaxed evening meals, The Glasshouse is a fun and stylish dining destination. Please note this restaurant only takes bookings one month in advance.
Family night out at the Glasshouse. I was not sure what to expect!. Beautiful location, greeted on arrival, and shown to the bar. We then were shown to the table. We were shown where everything was as it is basically a buffet style. Lots of...More
This is our third Christmas lunch at The Glasshouse and it could not have been better.
We were 5 girls and treated as Royalty. Sally Humphrey, Front of House Manager, treated us to complimentary glasses of Prosecco which was very generous and kind.
So much to choose from....
The white onion soup was to die for !
Prawns as large as golf balls.
Cheese board was superb, with fresh quince flown in, together with artisan breads and crackers.
Deserts - Far too many fabulous treats to choose from.

Sure, there's a decent...More
Been a while since I’ve eaten here and my impression is that the quality and variety of the food isn’t as good as before. The traditional carvery is ok, but nothing special and as so often, the vegetables are disappointing. The hot fish dishes were...More
Our meal for a party of 9 came to £646 - yes over £70 per head for a buffet lunch! We had one bottle of medium priced wine (I believe £23 approx.), one beer, one G+T and one glass of white wine between 9. The...More
We had a wonderful dinner and breakfast at The Glasshouse while staying the night at The Grove. We were very pleased with all the options available and the dessert selection at dinner was particularly exceptional. We breakfasted early and there were only a few diners...More
Went for my daughters 25th and sat in the bar whilst waiting for our table , I say bar but with the bleak white walls, high lighting and echoing room I felt I was about to hear " incoming ...incoming" and see medics running around...More
I've eaten here on a few occasions over the years, this last visit was very disappointing. Yes there's lots of choice (although starters at Sunday lunch were sparse) but the quality of meat for a traditional Sunday lunch was dreadful - my kids could hardly...More
