As a regular at the Phoenix, I am never disappointed. The quality of food is second to none, and service exceptional... roast beef with a side of stuffing and bread sauce is never a problem (I’m not a horse radish fan 😀) If you’re looking...More

The service is shocking! Arrived 10 mins early told to wait in the bar not a problem, but took us 10 mins to get served just got ignored. 2 others walk out as it was not busy just slow. We then got seated and served...More

Really did not want to respond to your review and did try to have it removed as it is untrue and aggressive. I should have gone with my original instinct and asked you to leave my premises when you rudely abused my shift leader and...More

Have been to this establishment several times always had an okay meal nothing I would rave about, but today we went. One of us had a burger, well it was the worst burger ever, in fact it seemed just like out of a frozen packed...More

I am absolutely outraged and insulted by your comments, our beef burgers are made of 100% beef from Hereford steers, Grange farm in Hurst and are made by our fantastic butcher, Graves in Hook. They are chargrilled to perfection and served in a toasted bun...More

Excellent venue & menu. The food is prepared to order and the range is extensive. The portion sizes are substantial. I’d recommend booking as it gets busy. The staff were all great and very friendly.

Guaranteed a warm welcome and great food. It doesn’t matter if you’re there to celebrate something special or simply grabbing a sandwich with a work colleague. Always happy to recommend meeting at the Phoenix Today’s choice was a chicken breast sandwich with lemon dressing.

Visited for dinner over the Bank Holiday weekend with some friends who had been before for Sunday lunch and had raved about it, and we were not disappointed. Lovely pub/restaurant with a very friendly feel. Quite big overall, although our table for six was in...More

To book! Just phoned up to make a reservation for dinner but left waiting.....and waiting......oh, and waiting! The phone was answered abruptly by a lady that greeted me with “Can you hold the line please”. It was not a question, more of a statement because...More

A disappointment after many good meals. Chose the duck confit and it came overcooked with the absolute minimum of taste. Pork chop looked good - wish I had chosen that!!

Called in for a midweek light lunch with a friend based on it being midway between our workplaces and good previous reviews. It was quiet and we sat at the front and ordered two sandwiches and a mug of chips from the lunch menu. They...More

I wish this was my local - cosy atmosphere, good wine and brilliant food. The food is high quality traditional food. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The prices reflect the better quality so whilst more expensive for a pub, it’s still value for money....More

The Phoenix is a historic and magnificent building in a prime location, with a large car park and a beautiful, peaceful garden. The food is simple, fresh, as much as possible local. Andrew Ryder, chef proprietor is passionate about provenance and seasonality. The menu changes frequently, to allow for seasonal favourites. The service is friendly and informal, staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. There is always a good selection of real ales and the extensive wine list suits all tastes and pockets.
