Very friendly and pleasant staff. Lots of choice on the menu and specials board. Children and dogs (bar only) welcome. Only complaint is that the size of helpings is a bit too big for me and the food is so tasty that I was unable to leave anything for 'Mr. Manners'. Waistline also not helped by the Hereford Ale, Butty... More

Booked a table and following an introductory cider we were invited in to the dining area. Service was pleasant and the meal was soon served. Plenty of choice reasonably priced and good portions, just the way the Foresters like it !

Lots of pictures off Parkend from years ago, I love that. Staff where really pleasant and our table ready for us! 6 Sunday carvery lunches 2 of which had the non meat... More

Came here for for Saturday supper meal with my family as was staying nearby. Friendly staff and a warm welcome. Great menu selection. The food was delicious, and a good selection of beers. You need to book a table to avoid the disappointment of not eating here. I noted that walkers were welcomed but please respect the request to remove... More

Decided to try The Fountain on the way home from somewhere. Went years ago but it was dull and dated. Have heard it is in new hands (for a while now) so gave it a go. We were pleasantly surprised. The whole place has been modernised. The menu was good with all the usual pub options. When it arrived the... More

Lunchtime visit - interesting old building with lots of old photos and artefacts on display. Looks to have been recently refurbished - very clean and tidy throughout. We chose a lasagne and a beef curry - both were excellent (as was the real ale), and service was prompt and friendly. Will definitely be returning - highly recommended.

I visited with friends this week for a Christmas lunch. Food was superb, service was very attentive but not intrusive and ambience was spot on. It was a busy lunchtime and the waitress who looked to be in charge (Rachel I think her name was) was a credit to the Fountain Inn. She was organised, competent and nothing was too... More

We visited yesterday, a family of 11 including 7 children, all very excited from seeing Santa on the railway. They were a little hyper and rowdy but we were made to feel very welcome and the food was fantastic. We had a carvery meal and the puddings were very tasty. Definitely worth a re-visit.

Description
Welcome to our award winning, family run, village inn. We offer a wide choice of good quality, home-cooked, meals - ranging from steaks to curries and hot-pots. On Sundays, we also run a popular carvery from noon until 3pm. Almost all of our meat comes from butchers within 4 miles of Parkend and we support many other producers in the Forest of Dean. At the bar you'll even find local real ales on tap, as well as a wide selection of other beers and wines. We welcome families, mountain bikers and walkers.
