The Legenddeli Restaurant is a tiny backstreet bistro/cafe with a huge passion for food, having featured in the newspapers, radio and on TV, catered for Jamie oliver, jimmy, star guests and the crew on the set of the Friday night feast show. Legend deli has a huge emphasis on making everything from scratch with pure ingredients and zero preservatives or additives. The Legenddeli restaurant serves brunch and lunch everyday and a secret dinner menu on Friday and Saturday nights (booking is highly recommended) Chef jay and his partner jojo provide an attentive service and perfectly prepared restaurant dishes and desserts every single day and also offer a very, very popular brunch/lunch menu that is different to anything in south Essex. A Southend secret that everyone should know about

I say 'secret' but really, anyone who loves food and lives in Southend knows this place. The reason is simple: interesting, original, tasty food is guaranteed. There's good reason this place is booked out so often, and it's to be found in the unpretentious focus on delivering great food at a price that would be at least double if you were sitting in a 'trendy' Shoreditch eatery. The ever evolving menu serves up some really interesting combinations you'd not see elsewhere alongside great versions of more traditional bistro style food. Bring your own bottle policy makes for well priced but excellent dining. Service with a smile, you can tell they have a passion for the food they create - I always end up chatting about some of the latest creations.

Another great meal, but this time delivered

Been a fan of this place for a while and many great meals, so we thought we would give the delivery a try. We weren't disappointed. Ordered our food. Express buttermilk chicken burger with Brie and Spinach, Cheeseburger pancake roll and the Turf and Turf burger. Less than 10 minutes after placing the order through just eat we had a call to apologise but the pancake roll was off the menu, we changed the order and it was sorted out with no hassle and no extra charge as they said it was their fault. The food arrived and obviously although it wasn't quite as nice as it is when you eat there(the fries were a bit soft, usually really crispy) we expected it with delivery as opposed to being fresh on your plate within a minute of it being cooked the food was still top draw.

Ordered our Sunday lunch and it was superb. We’d ordered Sunday roast dinners including the gammon (delicious) and the chicken (fresh and tasty). Served with gorgeous roast potatoes, carrots (cooked and so flavoursome), peas, green beans and cabbage. The cabbage had a cheesy type topping which isn’t my personal preference but it was still delicious. Lots of gravy and a large Yorkshire pudding too. Friendly delivery driver, delivered on time. A real treat. Recommended.

We had another Sunday lunch delivered. Honestly this could become a regular habit! If you are after a nourishing, well cooked Sunday lunch delivered to your door then why are you still reading this and not ordering / booking it now! Friendly delivery driver. Delivered well within the delivery window. If you want to arrange a treat for someone who perhaps is recuperating this is nourishing food literally on a plate. Recommended.

Much needed in this unprecedented time

Having had lunch here 3/4 times over the past few years we were very pleased that they started to deliver. We have now had Sunday lunch the past 3 weeks, all delivered at different times to 3 different addresses. Food had been outstanding. Always hot and extremely tasty. We truly hope that this situation will be the making of Legend Deli and they can go from strength to strength once we are back to “normal”. We can’t thank you enough, I can’t wait for Monday mornings now when we can preorder for the next week!!!

New Years Day roast

We ordered the New Years Day roast for 2 people and it was incredible; excellent portion size and delicious food. The roast arrived lovely and warm and you get a selection of 3 meats, along with vegetables, a yorkshire, stuffing and more. We could have done with a bit more gravy but maybe that was just us being greedy. Would highly recommend and would definitely order again.

I’m a regular of Legend’s awesome Sunday roast delivery service. It is second to none. Carvery sized portions with gourmet flavours dropped to your door. The potatoes and gravy are outstanding. The meat is always succulent. Legend’s steak burgers are also melt in the mouth delicious. Top food, top people. 10/10

Takeaway is awful quality.

I posted this on the Just Eat site but will repost it here again to warn people. I am very gullible when it comes to food and don't mind mistakes or mess-ups, but the quality of the food here is despicable. The burger was worse than what you get for £2 at a chicken shop. Mac and Cheese was chunky and a spoonful of pesto was slapped on top. Chicken "nugz" were bad quality and had a fatty texture to it. The wrap was incredibly plain and was again not at all worth the price. If this was a very cheap takeaway place i'd be okay with what gets served, but this is embarrassing. £50 was spent on this meal and I would say it wasn't even worth 10. Me and my partner went a little extra because we had something to celebrate. Now we just feel cheated out of our money. Will never order from this horrid place again.

Great meal delivered from their new location.

Legend Deli has always been a superb local small business. Its a restaurant / cafe that has a great menu and fantastic quality food. We had a take away delivered tonight a souvlaki, a smash burger kebab, chicken tenders and chicken fried halloumi fries. All were delicious, very generous portions. Happy to confirm their new location has not at all impacted their quality. Will be ordering again.

Such a shame…

We ordered a roast from Legend Deli and it was such a let down. We’ve really enjoyed their burgers before so was excited to try the roast. The delivery slot was 5-6pm and it turned up closer to 7… then the quality of the food was awful. The potatoes had zero flavour and tasted like aeroplane food, and the beef was tough and dry. Unfortunately we won’t be ordering from here again.

Fantastic food, quick delivery, great options for roast dinners!

Really fantastic food and fantastic service. Was recommended by a family member and glad I went ahead and ordered! I’m vegetarian so I get the vegan option and my partner eats meat so he has plenty of options available. Lovely, delicious roasts with so many flavours. Only thing I just need to mention is the vegan roast has a little too many vegetables. I never finish them as there’s too many! The food is fantastic however and the delivery service is great. Please keep up the fantastic service!

Delivery ordered, turned up really quickly and was absolutely delicious!! I had the big kahuna burger and my wife the Parmo chicken burger. These are premium quality burgers and are worthy of that. Chips were upgraded to house fries which were fluffy on the inside like a good roast potato. I can recommend this place wholeheartedly!!

Fabulous Xmas Meal

Due to some COVID issues we decided to try Legends Xmas dinner delivery. We had used them many times before for Burgers etc so we knew the quality was high. We ordered on-line, quick and easy with a very competitive price for four people. The meals arrived on time with clear instructions. Easy to cook on the day and wow! Huge portions, quality meats and veg and lovely, tasty desserts. We couldn’t, manage to eat it all! Fabulous value. We would highly recommend them and would definitely use again. Thank you Legends.

Delicious takeaway burgers

Stumbled upon this little gem, the photos online looked so good we decided to try a takeaway. I ordered the bacon cheese smash burger and my husband ordered the big kahuna (and it was very big!) We both loved our burgers, they were so tasty, well filled and juicy. We also got the Korean chicken wings and really enjoyed the flavours. The lady in the restaurant called us just before our order was ready and she was polite and friendly when i picked it up. Would definitely recommend... already thinking of what to order next time!
