A totally amazing restaurant. The food was beyond delicious, the staff attentive but not overly so and the atmosphere was perfect. Such a cosy yet quirky place. We can't wait to go back!

Had a couple of average experiences here. Owner very defensive and previous claims of gaining a Michelin Star fall way short of what is being delivered. Needs to listen to customers who have built up a huge amount of experience of dining and whose opinion...More

it's a small bar area but I imagine it's big enough for you all to have a drink. I'd give them a call beforehand to check they are not full to capacity for the night you want to go

Description
A chophouse is more than just a restaurant or a pub; it’s a British institution dating back to the origins of modern commercial trading in the late 17th century. Chophouses were exclusive places where businessmen conducted their affairs over hearty platefuls of food, usually grilled, and washed down with fine wines or well-kept local beers. The traditional nature of the food served was zealously maintained until the later 19th century, when influence from overseas introduced new and different styles of cooking. The Chophouse Braintree is keen to re-ignite the traditional chophouse philosophy; here you can enjoy fine food, exceptional wines, a relaxed atmosphere and - if you've chosen well ! - great company.
