Found the Indian sharing platter, whilst nice, rather expensive. Had the plaice fillets which went down well. Enjoyed a couple of pints of Butcombe real ale. Extensive menu with smaller portions available. Not very disabled friendly with entrance steps.

Really like the hope and have eaten there many times. The food is good home made dishes and typical pub stuff, nothing spectacular but nothing disappointing either. The beer is very good - consistently excellent Harveys and the family who run it are very friendly.

we both opted for BLT sandwiches which came with chips. Sandwiches could have done with more than one slice of bacon and the chips were the english standard frozen ones but we thought they and the drinks were good value and the staff were lovely
