Food is good quality, beer is excellent, a fair range of wines, live music and a real fire in Winter. In Summer tables at the rear look over wonderful countryside. The car park is a bit small and roadside parking can be tight. However the Pub invented its own bus stop - which buses now use. So well worth a... More

We really enjoyed our meal which was well cooked however, i thought the fish stew was not presented well and seemed to be hastily plated up. The service was pretty good and very friendly from most staff. I felt they forgot us towards the end as we were never offered any coffees. It wasn't cheap but overall we were pleased.

My husband and I went to a country pub for Sunday lunch with friends several years ago and could never remember it's name or location - must have been a good lunch hic😉 So pleased that we eventually stumbled upon it again today. Great, cozy, traditional pub - not many left - with a friendly welcome and delicious food. There... More

Have been coming here for the last two to three years now. It's become extremely popular and very busy. Food is always very good and has to be the one of the best foodie pubs in Sussex. Especially after reading the 'The Telegraph' had mentioned what a great place the Gallipot is. Booking is essential if you want a table... More

Have been recommending the Gallypot recently but went there last week and my meal was awful. Had slow roast lamb, which I have had before, this time it tasted as though it had been reheated several times, the potatoes were soggy and again tasted reheated and the leeks didn't help

Dropped in today. Staff did well to accommodate us. Partner had the roast lamb which she enjoyed although the roast potatoes were a bit soggy and the beans fairly yellow. I had the Catalan fish stew. Very disappointed and I'm surprised other reviews are so positive. My squid was incredibly chewy, sauce had little flavour and was very thin.

4 of us went for lunch today. I had already checked out the reviews on TripAdvisor and they sounded great and were true to their word. The food is prepared and made in the pub using local ingredients where possible 👍😀. I am fed up with pubs that charge high prices for dishes they have bought in ready made and... More

We went to the Gallipot on a recommendation while in the area. The pub is quaint, dog friendly and has an incredible garden with an outstanding view, unfortunately it wasn't warm enough for us to sit outside. The menu was quite limited with only about 7 options and pretty pricy (which seems to be standard for the area) however the... More

We had booked a table for 1.30pm - it was really busy and we were met with a lovely welcome. We choose roast lamb which came with Yorkshire pud, roast pots, and about 4 different types of veg including delicious leeks in a sauce. The plate arrived very quickly and it was delicious - would highly recommend. We then managed... More

My favourite pub in this area. Small, friendly, a real pub, good food, nice garden with views to the valley below. Often meet my friends here for lunch; suitable for all age groups. Can get quite full so best to book a table. They always cater brilliantly for my gluten and dairy free diet. Excellent menu plus black board specials... More
