We visited at early lunch on Sunday, a fine warm day. The pub was pleasantly buzzing but we found a small table inside easily. There was a friendly chaotic feeling, dogs lazing about, Sunday papers turning and children darting to and fro, quintesentially Sunday in...More

We arrived at about 6.15 and that was just in time as it got very busy in the next half hour. The staff were all good, polite and helpful and the food was great value.

We’ve been visiting the Lord Nelson for years and it remains a favourite, despite always being so busy! Clearly others think it’s good too. I suspect some visitors are put off by the inevitable crowd around the bar as soon as you walk through the...More

Full of character and located close to the top of the seafront with possible but awkward parking in front. Good service but very busy. Sit outside in the sun or move down towards the sea rather than stay inside the atmospheric but cramped bar area.

Food is okay, but portions are smaller and not as good as it used to be! The staff are good and the place is clean and has always been our first stop for a meal in Southwold but maybe we had a one off bad day!

We must have just got here in time - just before 6 - as the place got packed to the rafters within 20 mins of us arriving. Lots of families and couples, mostly tourists like us probably. The food going to the tables looked awesome...More

We stayed in Southwold for a week and ended up eating here 3 times! The food and service were excellent and the pub has a great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit and we will be back in our next trip to Southwold.

Went here couple of days ago while visiting the gem of Southwold . Dog friendly pub and even town. Adnams pub ( of course as the brewery is in town) and decent Broadside beer @ £4-10 a pint. At one point about 6 quiet dogs...More

Visited this wonderful little pub this week and had a lovely meal. We chose the burgers and they didn’t disappoint. Service was prompt and the atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend a stop here when visiting Southwold.

Tried the new addition of pizzas to the menu...you can choose as part of the menu or order a take away. We ate in and all four of us had a different pizza...the hand pulled dough base was lovely and the toppings delicious....we’ll worth a...More

We don't have a television I'm afraid. Might be shown at the sports pavilion on the common.. No pub in Southwold will be showing it. Regards. David.
