Restaruant Week in CBUS this week. Normally a three course meal with smaller portions at a discounted price, limited menu, designed to increase traffic. For $35 you get a salad, main dish and desert. I Intentionally ordered dinner from menu, Cesar salad $11, beer battered...fish and chips $19, My first time there but not at a Mitchell’s eatery. My beer batter fish arrived warm, not crispy as one would expect from a Capt D fast food place. Maybe it wasn’cooked probably under a heat lamp or fryer oil not to temp I don’t know I didn’t finish it. Service was good. I ordered a Cesar salad to have a larger portion but it was same size as the $6 version served to a friend that ordered from the Restaruant week menu. Apparently Mitchell’s has been wrecked by covid-19 and no longer cares about the quality of its product. But the coke was good and company excellent.More

This restaurant really does several things well, but unfortunately missed the mark on Many others. Our service was great and helpful. The meals were inconsistent: one loved the fish but not the chips, another loved the scallops while another felt they were overcooked with salty...sides to accompany. Myself, I had the sea bass which was done very well with the most underwhelming sides. I guess you could say it was a half and half. Prices are higher, almost reflective of Mitchell’s time spent here. The restaurant itself just seems a little worn and dated, reflective of that past ownership. Key lIme pie was tart and good.More

Stopped here while in Columbus for some where new. The place is nice inside and big. We were the only diners except for another couple. Parking lot was empty. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, probably because we were his only table. We were hungry...for fish and chips before we picked this place. After seeing the prices, we were glad we wanted fish & chipssince it was one of the cheapest things on the menu. They must have been breaded in gold flakes. On the positive side everything was delicious but with a shared desert and tip the bill was seventy some dollars. Not sure I would go back.More

We were looking for a seafood restaurant in the area when we visited Ohio State University. We made NO mistake in coming here. The food was very good from beginning to the end. I would eat here again when in the area

Sometimes a good place hits the mark. This was one of those times. Let me count the ways: 1) Arnold Palmer, made at the bar, was a just right combination of flavorful iced tea and lemonade. 2) starter was gumbo, full flavored, properly dark with...Cajun roux and full of seafood. 3) main plate was blackened fish sandwich, cajun spiced and pan fried cod, cooked nicely. Escabeche veggies, and chipotle tartar sauce served on a butter griddled brioche bun that was a highlight. 4) served by an A+ server Sarah (worth asking for). “The lunch box” for $15More

Nice and ample parking lot. Ambiance was pretty good. Food was exceptionally tasty and the quantity was more than expected. A bit costly though.

My lady friend and I spent the evening at The Columbus Fish Market and experienced a wonderful evening. The seafood was superb and the service providec by Rachel was beyond compare. The food was served hot and properly prepared. The service was exemplary. Although a...bit pricey the food and dining experience was well worth it. ,More

We hadn't been to Columbus Fish Market in sometime and since it was restaurant week my husband & I decided to give it another try. The last time we went the quality had declined a little but we thought one more try. We were disappointed....We were sat directly under a speaker playing loud music that I didn't think was appropriate for that type of restaurant. When my husband asked if it could be turned down we were told no but they did move us, it was still loud. The excuse for the loud music was so you couldn't hear discussions at other tables and the music choice was the same for all Landry restaurants, not true I've eaten in other Landry restaurants and did not hear that type of music. I couldn't hear my husband who was sitting across from me and our waitress was having trouble hearing us. it took 15 minutes to get our soft drinks (our server only had 1 other table) and service went down hill from there. We had to ask for bread and drink refills. Other tables sat at the same time or after us were finished and gone before we got dessert. My clam chowder was okay, slightly bland, nothing amazing. My husband said his seafood gumbo was very good. Caeser salads were wilted and dressing was over peppered. We both had the crab stuffed salmon. Not sure what it was stuffed with but it did not taste like crab. Salmon was mushy, over cooked and had a strong fishy smell. The asparagus were very large, hard as a rock, woody and very bitter. Smaller asparagus would taste so much better. When I mentioned that to our server she said they always get large ones because that is all the supplier had. I would find a new supplier before I would serve that. The mashed potatoes were the only thing decent on the plate. The dessert was very good. When our server brought our bill we told her we were not pleased with the meal and asked if the gentlemen who had just walked by was the manager and could we speak with him. She said yes and she would check. We paid our bill and she came back and informed us the manager was to busy to speak with us. There were maybe a dozen tables seated in the whole place so I'm not sure what he was busy doing. We had already been there over 2.5 hours so we gave up and left. When we walked out we saw the manager leaning up against the wall looking around the restaurant doing nothing. There was another couple walking out at the same time as us and they said their meals were horrible as well. We will not be back.More

Our party of 5, 4 adults and a 2 year old had a reservation that they honored . The server we had was great. He made several entree recommendations and he was right on with them. We took every suggestion he made and no one...was disappointed. The restaurant has a full bar and they made excellent apple martinis. I cannot say how wonderful they food was. Go there you will not be disappointed.More

We visited the fish market again today. We have been several times before. We had the shrimp cocktail and muscles in red wine and butter for appetizers. The cedar plank salmon was superb and the side of jambalaya was delicious. The fish is always fresh...and clearly the best in town. The food is always top quality well prepared and tasty. Service was excellent. Our server Mana was exceptional as she always is with a bright personality, great smile and efficient and quick service. We will surely return again.More

I thought the portions were reasonably sized for the type of restaurant that it was.. To me, justification for the price is the quality of the food and atmosphere that one experiences vs going next door to the Cap City Diner... More
