from reading other "reviews" I expected OUT OF THIS WORLD it wasn't . . . . It was ok but not I need to come here again soon. One person had a cheese steak were not overwhelmed with it, another pot roast ( a special)...that they seemed to enjoy. I had the "Fried chicken" which was a deep fried chicken cutlet that was ok but nothing to write home about. you can have a decent meal here but don't expect the world.More

Good food, nice atmosphere, friendly waitress, adhere to covid rules. Nice and clean. Pleasant place to relax... large drink menu for kids and adults. Interesting unique menu, would be nice for an upscale date or special occasion. Large portions, a tad pricey for regularl outing..The...fish and chips were good.. so were the rolls,More

My son made us reservations here for dinner during our trip to Columbus. We were promptly seated and given a basket of glazed dinner rolls, they were delicious. We all ordered different items, my husband had balsamic chicken with a side of spinach, I had...a Greek salad with grilled chicken, my son had a roasted chicken sub and his partner had a philly steak. Everyone really enjoyed their food.More

The front door had a sign face masks required. When we entered we noticed that all staff were wearing masks. They seated us in a booth that I seen a sign on the table saying that it had been sanitized for our guests. The back...rest had a plexiglass shield instilled that was about two feet tall. There was a small square to scan for the menu. We asked if they had a menu that we could see, we were given a disposable paper one we food on one side and beverages on the otherside. My wife ordered the pecan crusted pork chop with candied chopped pecans, it comes with cheddar-Chipotle mashed potatoes, spinach, with an apple cider glaze. She ordered regular mashed potatoes instead of Chapelle mashed potatoes and green beans instead of the spinach and no apple cider glaze. I ordered the blue plate special for Wednesday, which was liver and onions sautéed with bacon and caramelized onions, and balsamic veal jus, Chapelle mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Wife's pork chop was boneless about one inch thick and tender. She said it was very delicious. My liver and onions was a large portion and tasted delicious the way everything was prepared. The ice tea was served in a glass pitcher like wine comes in. We were given individual packages of salt and pepper. The meal also came with warm biscuits. Our server was very friendly and kept our beverages refilled, checking on how we were doing and if we needed anything. The restaurant did any excellent job of arranging tables to maintain social distancing. They have both a large inside and outside enclosed patio for dinning. This is an excellent restaurant with great service. Definitely will be returning.More

Cap City Fine Diner serves up good non pretentious food in a relaxed environment that offers both inside and outside seating. Servers are well-trained professionals who make guests feel welcome and valued. The menu is of manageable size, and features a few unique offerings along...with standard entrees and sandwiches. The club sandwich is the best I have ever had, so frankly I have standardized on it to the extent I have experienced few other items. Drinks are well crafted. Pies are the featured dessert, with a different pastry offered daily. If you don’t happen to fancy the pie of the day Dutch apple pie with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream is always available. It is fantastic.More

This is a fantastic restaurant for families and casual dining. They take traditional diner faire and but lovely touches. fun drinks - passion fruit Fresca - excellent very refreshing, not too sweet. strawberry basil lemonade - very good a little too sweet. Milk Shake -...good (I am surprised. My daughter had this). blueberry lemon cake - excellent, most, lovely lemon fragrance with blueberries inside the cake. Nice blueberry compote/sauce accompanied it as well. Potato encrusted white fish - lovely, really enjoyed the flavor. The fish was tender and cooked to perfection. My daughter enjoyed her hamburger. Service was excellent!More

After a long day of travel we wanted to hit somewhere nearby and not too heavy. Cap City was nearby and highly recommended so we gave it a shot. They had an extensive menu so anyone is able to find something and even had a...fixed price 3 course menu as well. My business associate tried the bbq chopped salad and said it was really good. I had the wedge salad and a bowl of creole tomato soup and both were great choices. The salad could have used a touch more dressing but was that was easily rectified by asking our waiter. The tomato soup had a slight kick to it so just be aware it has some spice but I thought it was fantastic. It’s not a cheap place to eat so be aware that the menu is a little pricey, but the service with Robert was excellent and entertaining with good banter to go along with good service. The decor is great with a retro look to the diners of yesteryear and the desserts looked unbelievable so try to save room if you can. We will return when it’s earlier and we have more of an appetite. Highly recommended place to eat.More

Everybody raves about Cap City and YES, it's good but great...I don't know. I've eaten here 3 times and each meal was good but just short of great. Today we had their famous meatloaf and the crusted white fish. The white fish tasted like tilapia...which is a sub par choice; cod or another firm flesh fish would have been better. The meat loaf was a massive slab of meat served with mashed potatoes and onion straws. Massive, yes but tasty, not so much. Too bland IMHO. Great if you are horrified by garlic and other spices but for my tastes it was bland, bland, bland. Too bad but they apparently know what sells to their customers and that word is BLAND. You be the judge.More

Lunch with family. Romano Chicken, Salmon and Walleye. Recommendations by Kaylynn our terrific waitress who capably cared for us and a large party. Strawberry Basil lemonade was the closest we got to a drink. Served in a carafe and glass. Delicious. Everything was delicious. The...three of us shared a Caesar salad that the waitress divided for us before serving. Fresh buttered yeast rolls hot from the oven were terrific. Each entree was beautifully prepared and served. Managed to eat all of salmon and walleye. Chicken to go box mandatory due to very generous portions. Lots of heavy dessert options but we passed. Enjoyed the meal and were unfamiliar with the menu so was a little surprised that lunch for three without alcohol or dessert was just over $100 with tax and tip. We would probably return because food and service were outstanding but a lot for lunch. Parking is free and we arrived at 2 and had no wait on a wet Friday afternoon. Definitely recommend. The Chicken Romano could definitely be shared. Maybe not the salmon or walleye unless you want to share a dessert.More

We are always happy to get back to one of our favorite restaurants in the city! The menu hasn't changed (which is a good thing!). Almost always have the BlueTag/Alfredo chips, the pork dinner and dessert! Every dessert on the menu is so delicious but...we especially love the Seriously Big Chocolate Cake. It never disappoints! Great spot to go with friends. Friendly staff.More

Yes, it is a place you could take a youngster, but it is not a place that specifically caters to kids. It is more adult-themed food.

Cap City is a place to be comfortable. Wear what you like and you will fit right in. I've seen shorts and suits on the same visit.
