Per usual I’m utilizing @tripadvisor when traveling to find the best restaurants wherever we land. We decided Columbus Ohio was a good place for dinner on our way to Ohio. We found @refectorydining and I read the reviews which were all amazing. We roll up...with our 8:30 dinner reservations and WOW I’m so impressed. I’m sure however they weren’t impressed with our travel attire however they greeted us right away like family. From explaining the history of the building to the menu and wine list the service was impeccable. Dom or Dominique was beyond expectations. He gave wonderful recommendations, brought us a free Crème brûlée and something for my grandmas 100th birthday. I’m telling you, if you’re ever in Columbus; it would be a disservice to your taste buds to not enjoy this gem! ❤️More

If you are wondering if the Reflectory is the right choice for your special night out, definitely do it. It was definitely one of the best if not THE best meal I've eaten both in the United States and internationally. Each course was artfully plated...and seasoned to perfection. The sides and sauces on each plate were thoughtful and elevated the experience. Our thoughtful server and sommelier Justin suggested the perfect wine pairing, and it was needed as the wine list is extensive, and the bar tender created the most lovely cocktails. I am not usually a bourbon fan but the Raindrops on Roses was just a delight. Dessert was absolutely incredible and if you can fit it into your budget, absolutely get the Tokaji Essencia. That was an entire experience on its own. Overall the perfect birthday dining experience. We felt safe as the building has high ceilings and the tables we well spaced. Everyone was masked and wearing their masks properly. There were hand sanitizing stations in multiple locations. We will definitely be coming back when warm weather arrives for dining al fresco. If you are adventurous and enjoy eating as an experience, then the Refectory must make it on you list. My only complaint is that it has taken me this long to discover it.More

This is a really nice place for a date night. It's set in an old church, and is very cozy. Their bar area is amazing but the bar itself is quite small. They specialize in French cuisine, which just isn't my thing. I haven't had...enough French food to know whether theirs is good or bad, but it just didn't do anything for me. I've eaten there several times, mostly on business, and it's just pretentious food in my opinion. It is however a nice place to stop by for a dessert. The setting is very romantic, and I like to stop in there with the Mrs for a glass of wine and a dessert.More

They have amazing wine selections. They changed the menu recently, and we were able to share everything. The waiters were amazing and it is the restaurant when you have anything special. All dishes are wonderful.

My wife and I feel very safe dining at Refectory even with Covid19 cases increasing. The extremely high ceiling and table spacing are nearly as safe as being outside in my opinion. The service is still excellent and the food exquisite. They have changed to...a small plate menu which means the meat or seafood choice will not be quite as much food as a normal entree. However the appetizer course is more substantial and even though I am a big eater, I am still satisfied. If it isn't quite enough, there is always the excellent bread, dessert, or just order and additional appetizer. Chef Richard has raised the bar even higher when it comes to the art of food placement and design. I something new each time just to see what it looks like. Truly amazing. We are so lucky to have a French restaurant of this caliber hre in Columbus. And the prices are more than reasonable.More

During the Covid crisis, The Refectory has remained a strong presence in providing fine dining in Columbus. Take home dinners and summer picnics are delicious. My wife and I enjoyed summer picnics of fresh corn salad, potato salad, and shrimp--all serve fresh with no heating...involved. Take home dinners we have enjoyed include duck breast, loin of lamb, and the recently added pork shank for two. Wonderful first courses have included gazpacho. mushroom soup, and pate. Wine is sold at retail prices. You need to order at least one day in advance on line. Pick up at the door. Meals include cooking directions. Very simple. Meals include lovely sides including rice pilaf, carrots, harticot vert, sometimes purple potatoes. Enjoy. Thank you.More

The Refectory Restaurant never disappoints. We dined here 3 years ago for a special birthday and returned this year for a special anniversary. We were warmly and cordially greeted then shown to our beautiful, romantic little table for two in the upper room. The ambiance...was warm, soft, and relaxing with low lighting and an old-world charm. The exposed church rafters are a sight to behold. The service was exceptional. We thank Nick, John, and Phil for their outstanding, attentive service and enjoyable interactions. We thank Kamal for his interest in making sure all of his guests are enjoying their dining experience by personally checking in on them. That night, we ordered the Chef's Five-Course Tasting Menu with the Wine Pairings. It was a 3.5-hour dining extravaganza! Chef Richard, Magnifique! The food was beautifully presented and consuming it was a joy. This team effort would not have been complete, though, without the educational, entertaining, and delightful experience provided by our sommelier, Chris. We came to realize he was our sommelier 3 years back as well! Chris, we know you were incredibly busy the evening we dined, and we appreciate the time you spent with us. God Bless you all for the people you are and the joy you brought us on our special evening. We will remember it always. p.s. Sorry, no picture of the chocolate souffle. I was on my fifth glass of wine and lost my impulse control when this dessert arrived. Just heavenly!More

Since we are in a high risk category we've been eating takeout for all of our dining excursions. The Refectory does a lot more than "takeout" with their Home Meals. It's a gourmet dining experience that's easy to prepare and delicious to eat. The pictures...below don't do justice to the quality of the food. We will definitely be ordering another Home Meal for our next special occasion.More

Best upscale restaurant in Central Ohio. First dining out since COVID-19 started. Did a good job with mask and social distancing, we felt very safe. New format, mix of small plates and full entrees, we were unclear of what was small plate and what was...a meal with sides. Food was up to their high standards but we ordered too much because we didn’t understand the menu.More

We don't have a required dress code, so what ever you feel most comfortable with is totally fine. Most guests wear dressy casual or business casual attire. There are guests that also may wear shorts.
