My daughter really loves Asian food, so we are always looking for new places to try. I found this through Open Table, otherwise I would never have known about it. Quick service and good food, reasonably priced. Next time we will sit at one of the chabudai tables (there are 2 in the back of the restaurant.) and we'll try... More

Shuhei has long been a premier sushi restaurant in Cleveland. Authentic Japanese cuisine with high quality for the real and seasoned sushi eater. Highly recommended.

The sushi rolls were good and very fresh. The prices were reasonable for the Maki rolls $6.50ish each. I did not try anything else although the prices seemed a little high. This place was hard to find because it is in the basement of an office building.

Extensive menu of Japanese standards - tonkatsu - tempura - noodles, etc. The sashimi and sushi are quite good. Service was fine. Good selection of Japanese beer.

Honestly, I expected more from this restaurant, but the food was good but nothing unusual and the service was rather slow and inattentive. I'll look for another similar restaurant in the area before returning. The main thing that they could do to improve would be to have more than one server for the entire dining room at lunch, and make... More

Sushi was fresh and the service was impeccable. I love that they wear kimonos and they have an area to have a true Japanese experience. I would definitely visit again.

The sushi here is as authentic as you will find anywhere. Met an associate here for a business lunch. The food and service were excellent and we never felt rushed.

In an office building, just east of Green on Chagrin Rd, on the south side of the street. You need to pull in and drive behind the office building. Sushi is amazing, perfectly sliced, probably the best in town. They've been doing it for years at Shuhei, and at his previous restaurant in Coventry. Never had a disappointing bite here.

Tucked away on the ground floor in a Beachwood (30 minutes from downtown CLE) office building is a restaurant offering the best sushi west of Japan. I'm sure a better Japanese restaurant exists but I've not found it (and I'm looking). Diners are greeted by a kimono-clad waitstaff and traditional Japanese artwork adorns the walls in this upscale contemporary locale.... More

Japanese cuisine is easily one of the healthiest on Earth, with its concentration on fresh fish, seafood, meats, vegetables and rice. The zesty sauces and delicate flavors of fresh foods compliment each other beautifully, and the methods of presentation turn even simple meals into ornate, eye-pleasing events. The Japanese love of beauty and simplicity turns slices of fish into miniature artworks, turning the platter into paint palettes for the artistry of the chef. Here, at Shuhei, traditional ways of creating dishes and preparing foods are far from lost. Authentic, high-quality and extensive Japanese fare is the highlight of the restaurant complete with affordable prices, relaxing atmosphere, kimono-clad waitresses who go the extra mile to make you smile and "the best sushi this side of Tokyo" according to ZAGAT Survey 2008!
