I must start by saying I rarely write reviews for trip advisor. Indeed this is the first review I have written. I feel it important to relay my experience at au pair in McLaren Vale. We visited with friends. There were a number of children in the group. The restaurant took this into consideration and sat us away from other... More

We enjoyed a very tasty lunch and excellent, personal service from all the staff at Au Pear today. While the menu offers classy, tasty sensations, one of our party had some severe dietary constraints, but staff were extremely patient and helpful and produced a tasty, well presented alternative. Loved the ambience- inside is neat, airy and fresh. Outside under the... More

Recently had lunch at the AuPear cafe restaurant at McLaren Vale. A 1 hour drive from the Adelaide CBD situated in the wine country of the Southern Vales the little restaurant is quintessential of what makes this area of the Adelaide Hills the best of the best. The old cottage has been tastefully restored and proves an airy ambiance conducive... More

The two of us shared a couple of entrées plus a couple of side dishes which was just great for a Saturday light lunch. Left some room for a couple of deserts which were also devine. The scallop entrée was cooked to perfection as was the small tart. The wines by the glass were from local producers and were a... More

It is located on the Main Road between McLaren Vale and Willunga. It is a beautiful little spot tucked away. There is plenty of parking. It is a wonderful room and there is also a lovely garden. We ventures in for a Saturday night dinner and we're quite surprised. There is a new young chef, Ryan Callaghan, that is turning... More

Don't be put off by the inauspicious view from the road - this restaurant is a gem! The service we received from Muff & Sam and the delicious food produced by Ryan in the kitchen left us shouting for more!! Their knowledge of local wines is encyclopaedic - let them recommend a drop to go with your food. We sampled... More

Had a light lunch in a lovely setting. Friendly owner and staff. Chef came to us to enquire if we had enjoyed the lunch we had chosen and explained to us the produce that he had used. Chose to have the dukha with their own baked bread. Yum! Followed with a tasting platter for two. Swordfish, escargot, baked cauliflower, pork... More

Our first visit & dining experience here & we all enjoyed it thoroughly. What a gorgeous setting. A small restaurant with a very picturesque outlook even from the bathrooms! The tables were a nice size with comfortable seats & not noisy @ all. The staff were all very friendly & attentive. We shared a platter of seafood meat cheese &... More

We were a table of 12 and were very disappointed in the service, the waitress couldn't tell us about the champagne and what was on the platters. They would have got so much more alcohol sales from us if they bothered to come out and serve us. Such a shame for a four and a half star service restaurant.

We had anticipated your review and were interested to see your comments. On the day we were prepared for your group of 12, as booked, however we had not anticipated that you would arrive on a bus with an esky in tow. Our concerns were raised further when one of your group immediately removed a stubby and consumed it before... More

Today we had the pleasure of eating at this amazing restaurant. To say to food was amazing would be an understatement. It was more than we expected taste wise from each course. The service was friendly and efficient. I couldn't fault anything except perhaps that I wish I could go back tomorrow and eat there again.
