You really feel like if you're in Germany when you're at this restaurant. The decor, food, beer and the uniforms of the staff. They even speak German amongst each other. The only difference is the magnificent view on the Glasshouse Mountains. Lovely place.

Exceptionally friendly, entertaining & authentic welcome. Absolutely delicious food. Great variety on the menu. The fantastic view was the icing on the cake. Even if there hadn't been a view, I would highly recommend this restaurant as a MUST go to. Thank you for the very special experience. I live in NZ, but recommend this restaurant to whoever I can.

Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday as we headed north from Brisbane. My husband and I were initially seated inside but without even asking the waitress said she would relocate us to outside to take in the view as soon as a table was free. (Happy with that as we had only made a booking 20 minutes over the... More

We have been dining at King Ludwigs for 19 years. Lunch on the week end is our favourite time to go, as we love the spectacular views. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. The meals are very generous and always superb. Authentic German style meals with some other options as well. It is always very busy ..... which speaks... More

My husband and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary at King Ludwigs. From the moment we walked up to the front door, we were welcomed with a sign that said "Happy Anniversary Rachel & Howie" and our host Barbara greeted us with warm hugs! We were given a lovely private table on the sprawling balcony and thoroughly enjoyed the German... More

My wife, mother-in-law and I decided to drop in for lunch at King Ludwigs on Sunday. The blackboard sign out the front said "Lunch Fully Booked". But we thought we would ask the question anyway. The young waiter (owners son) was very polite and accommodated us with a smile. We all had a main course and the food was fantastic.... More

We recently celebrated a family member's milestone birthday and once again, we were warmly welcomed upon arrival. We enjoyed another great meal and were not disappointed with the food and service and, of course, the wonderful view of the Glasshouse Mountains from our table on the back deck. We were quickly shown to our table with German beers and pretzels... More

Very hard to choose with so many delicious options. Had to have the Pretzels with Obazda for starters because I'd nearly forgotten how much I love it, maybe they'll still have the herring salad next time I go. Our mains were beautifully cooked and presented and the desserts were irresistible. We ate far too much and enjoyed every second of... More
