Decided on lunch at the hotel. I had the pie and chips with gravy and a beer and my partner had fish cakes and salad. Both meals were large and filling. I really enjoyed my curry pie and the gravy was very tasty. There were a lot of people sheltering from the rain, but we did not feel crowded. The... More

If you want a posh lunch, this probably isn't the place for you. However if you are looking for a laid back bar, with a handful of food choices and lots of locals this is ideal. My husband and I had booked a later sky rail to make sure we didn't have to rush around, however ended up with plenty... More

Weren't very impressed with this place unfortunately. Meals were unimpressive, bad cuts of meat in the steak sandwich and bread was barely toasted at all. We sat outside as it was a nice warm day but had to move away from the reek of cigarettes so we had the choice of inside or in the sun. We were also informed... More

Grabbed an early lunch after catching the morning train up to Kuranda. Order and pick up meals at the bar, food came out rapidly, and they were huge. Freshly cooked and well priced - under $60 for a family of four including soft drinks

It's not the most tourist-centered place, seems more like a spot for the locals, which would explain why it doesn't feature on many of the tourism flyers and maps. However, you can get good, tasty, substantial food (think fish and chips, burgers, chicken parma, fish sandwiches) at a relatively inexpensive price, served quickly, in a pleasant and unassuming hotel atmosphere.... What was, a few years ago, a run down, untidy and unwelcoming establishment has been transformed into a welcoming, very well designed small town pub. The timber deck at the front of the Pub is amazing - with all the timber - apparently - being locally sourced. The meals are excellent pub quality and the staff are absolutely top rate.... More

Fabulous atmosphere and wonderful lunch, huge size and yummy. I cannot exactly remember what we had except for my husband had Steak and I had fish and chips, ( our usual) and it was delicious.
