Popped in for a couple of drinks to be met by Sargent Major Staff to fill in forms or qr code the app and shown to a table. Easy to use app with table service which was great and everyone adhering to the required Covid...precautions. We were told to drink up fast at 9:30pm then again at 9:35pm and again at 9:40pm and ushered out the door by 9:50pm........10pm closing? The staff were very forthright and very over cautious when all the customers were socially distanced, wearing masks and following all of the government’s guidelines prior to a 10pm closure to be almost forced out on the street before 10pm. 10pm to 5am closure, not drink quick at 9:30pm and out by 9:50pm.More

Have just walked out of the Red Well. I was seated in the table service area and was waiting to be served. I tried waving at the bar staff, but no one seemed keen to serve me. As a I sat waiting to be served...I had to listen to four middle aged Neanderthals sat at two tables shouting a conversation to each other. The language they used was disgusting. None of them could speak a sentence without swearing. F***ing this, f***ing that. This is the first time I have encountered this in a Spoons pub. They were sat near the bar and the staff didn't bat an eyelid. After having to listen to these four morons and being ingored by the staff I walked out. Come on Mr. Spoons, you have better standards than this!More

Tried the new Mangalorean curry. Curry in Spoons is usually quite good, but the Mangalorean curry was absolutely tasteless, no flavour what so ever. Very very dissapointing. Come on Mr.Spoons , you can do better than this.

Came here today for an early dinner (5.30pm) due to the 'eat out' scheme it was super busy. This did not however impact on the quality of our service and experience. Found an empty table and ordered drinks and food- a wonderful staff member (who...I believe is a supervisor/manager) came over to our table to inform us that our vegan desserts had sold out and offered us a range of options to make up for this. To avoid over complicating things we ordered a couple of extra sides and a drink that were brought promptly to our table along with our meal. (The vegan burger and vegan sausage and chips are both winners by the way.) I cannot stress enough how efficient, smiley and excellent the service was from all staff and particularly the manager/supervisor - she made us feel as if nothing was too much trouble. You are excellent at your job. Based on this experience, I am determined to continue to support this establishment - it is truly an important social hub for many people in our community which must thrive thrive thrive. Thank you staff at the Redwell. We had had a particularly stressful day and you made it all so much better. We salute you!More

spoke to the area manager in northampton,a week ago, when i mentioned an ale on for too long,he said they, the management know that 4 days is the limit, could be longer with a stronger beer. For the last 3 weeks we have had ,Phipps bison brown,Marstons old...empire,now Ringwood razorback on sale for a week each, needless to say they were undrinkable, the only positive feedback from the on shift manager was Jackie, who took razorback off sale and put on old peculiar, other times even when i spoke to pub manager, the response was, iii, put another on,nothing happened and original beer still on sale.Date of visit 240820 1220More

Most Wetherspoon pub are pretty gritty but this one is decent. Ok, you still have your 60 something regulars clogging the place up, but the service is very good and friendly and the food and drink is a very good price. Well done

Great beer, great value, but why so cold. Have just spent a couple of hours in the Red Well enjoying the surperb choice of real ales, but had to sit there drinking with freezing cold air con blowing down on us. Everyone in our group...said they felt cold. Is freezing cold air con necessary? England is not that hot! What about the eco effect?. Come on Mr. Spoons, a little guidance of your staff may be in order.More

I suppose it's the best of a bad bunch. It's clean, it's cheap, nearly half the price of the other local pubs. A few of the staff are competent, the rest, just indolent. they try not to serve you after 11-45. some times they... More
