5* - Incredible presentation of the food and extremely delicious! I had the scallops to start, then the duck for my main and finally the treacle tart for dessert! A little pricey, but honestly you get what you pay for! Couldn’t fault a thing from...the service to the food! All amazing! Both me and my other half throughly enjoyed ourselves!More

We ate here while on holiday in Tideswell and had a wonderful meal. We chose the fixed price menu - 3 courses for £22 and every course was beautifully cooked and presented. The plum cheesecake with plum sorbet was especially memorable. They dealt well with...CV-19 and the tables were well spaced and the atmosphere convivial. Nice service too.More

Visiting the Merchant's Yard again wasn't disappointing. Really friendly and efficient staff, great food, great atmosphere and the adhering to the covid recommendations are second to none. The staff are constantly sanitizing. The washing facilities outside, sanitizer out side of the toilets as well as a...really good sanitizing routine when it's time to settle your bill. If you are at all concerned about eating out in these strange times I would recommend the Merchant's Yard.More

Went here for a friend’s birthday dinner whilst on holiday. We ate from the £22 set menu which was excellent value for money and the food was brilliant! The Elderflower Tom Collins were lovely, but only quibble was that the Negronis weren’t particularly nice. Nevertheless,...would highly recommend!More

Highly recommended. Very good quality food that although a'la carte style, was sufficient for both me and my wife to leave the restaurant very full. Both starters were excellent, the Pigs Cheek and Mushroom soup (never the most visually appealing, but wow what flavour!). For...mains my wife had the duck, which was cooked in several ways, whilst I had the TMY burger (which was huge but I managed to finish it 😉). Finally, we had sticky toffee pudding and the plum cheesecake (including the best sorbet I have ever had) to finish, before rolling home happy!More

My husband and I had lunch at the restaurant on the 1st October. Every possible consideration had been made to make this a Covid safe environment. The restaurant had installed a hand washing station at the entrance with alcohol gel as an alternative and QR...code for customers with the NHS app. All the customers in the restaurant were suitably distanced and served by one waiter who was very efficient and extremely polite. Our lunch was of the usual high standard and the whole experienceodt enjoyable. Many thanks.More

Amazing! Really nice interior in a really lovely village. The mushroom soup was the best soup I have ever had! My beef and my partners risotto were exquisite and the deserts were the highlight (that’s how good it was)! A must visit in Tideswell -...will be back!More

This was our first visit to The Merchant's Yard and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We dined from the October special menu of 3 courses for £22 which was excellent value and the food was fantastic. Service was attentive and the surroundings and decor, slightly...different and interesting. Couldn't ask for more really- will be back.More
