While on a visit from Spain me and the family went for lunch on a cold Saturday afternoon. The welcome was warming and the food didn't disappoint. All six of us had the baps with various fillings, with chips or roast potatoes, it was fab. Shame I live so far away as I would be going again very quickly. Its... More

This was our first lunchtime outing here, & I was not dissapointed! Service, very good, & the young barman very nice & talkative. We both had the brie in breadcrumbs to start, which came very quickly Followed by our mains, which were a carvery, ( mine ) ,& beef stroganoff, for my partner! They were both very nice, & proper... I have given the pub its correct name! I visited at lunchtime during the week and it was full ; doing a roaring trade on carverys which seemed excellent value for money. There wasn't a slim customer in the place! Having mentioned the carvery, they do have an extensive menu of the traditional pub grub. Nevertheless, by mistake, I asked... More

Called in on the off chance on a Sunday lunch time, all the tables were booked but the manageress said if we ate straight away we could have a table. We took the chance. The Sunday carvery was one of the best I have had, nothing could be faulted. The place was spotless and well decorated and the warmth and... More

Love having our lunch here! My family and i have become quite the regulars :) the carvery is honestly to die for! They staff here always go above and beyond to help their customers. They cater for my 9 month old son - which is always helpful!

We are lucky to have this as our local and regularly pop over for a meal. The carvery is great value for money and it's certainly not cooking a roast for just two of us on Sundays. Great to pop over when friends and family visit as aside from the carvery there is a great menu. Plenty of choice and... More
