What was Querky Corner is now called the Fox Hole, this is a Meltham eatery that must not be missed. We had a 'platter for two' which was beautifully presented and when eaten did not dissapoint! The staff were friendly and gave excellent service.

Lovely interesting pub. Friendly, helpful staff. Beers well kept. The food was palatable but overpriced for what it was - I left feeling moderately ripped off. Would.'nt recommend it to a friend.

We used to visit the Fox House quite a lot. We don't go anymore due to the fact that the food takes nearly a hour. If you then order a pudding its also takes nearly one hour (after the main meal) and the last two times we went the steak was so fatty it was totally inedible. Such a shame... More

If you want a traditional Derbyshire County pub look no further than the Fox House. It's a beautiful pub, has a great traditional menu with locally sourced food, cooked to perfection and served with a smile by friendly and efficient waiting staff. I can't recommend highly enough, a perfect pub in the heart of beautiful countryside, perfect for a post-lunch... More

The food was slack in both quantity and taste. The waiting staff were grumpy and just didn't want to be there. The only bonus of the trip was the beer was cold on a hot afternoon. But after a long walk across the surrounding trails I advise hopping back in the car and calling for lunch at a different location.... More

While travelling on business I chose to stay the night and have my evening meal. The room appeared to be in a converted barn and was very comfortable. The food and selection of local ales were very pleasing, the 3 staff I had take care of me were very polite and helpful. I will be returning here with my family... More

Totally lacking in atmosphere and service. Food dull and lacking in any taste. Left most of our food and drove on to the Moorlands at Owler bar and got a carvery at a fraction of the price.

The problem here is service quality and staff attitude. Really quite unacceptable especially given the fact that the building is lovely and the location is perfect. This place should be a gold mine but I really wonder how much return business they get. Bar service is pathetic. Food is not that bad to be fair but watch out for the... More

Visited this place last weekend whilst on a walk in the area. Had high hopes as have been to other places in the Vintage Inn chain which have always been good. Things didn't get off to a good start when I ordered some drinks at the bar and asked to open a tab so I could pay for the food... More

Friendly staff. Wonderful building, wonderful guest ales and sitting in the hot sunshine drinking a cold beer.... brilliant.
