We often have lunch but its great if you just need a brew and something sweet to tide you over, the cakes are home made. The staff are friendly and the cafe though busy never feels crowded as its not... More

Ate here whilst staying in Hathersage as wanted just something relatively simple. Service and friendliness from staff was excellent Not sure if it was because it was the end of the day and near closing time but food was OK- not terrible but nothing to write home about.

For my money, this is the best cafe in the Peak District. It has a decent-sized menu of down to earth food, with something to suit all diets, and it offers excellent value for money. Service is good, and it is an attractive environment in which to stuff your face!

Not for the first time I experienced a substantial delay following ordering food. They seem poorly organised.

Good breakfasts served here at good prices. Could do with opening a bit earlier for the keen crushers!

We were a group of 6 - 3 had been walking and had not had any lunch, 3 had been to a café and a museum so just wanted an afternoon snack. The ravenous walkers enjoyed big portions of chilli while the strollers had coffee and cake. It was all very nice and we would happily go back.

There's a big selection of simple food - from breakfasts, sandwiches, backed potato, scampi and chips, etc. Plus cakes for dessert. It's fairly basic, but good stuff. It can get busy which makes finding a table a tricky.

vegan options available, fairly priced, portions could be bigger - majority of customers are hungry walkers!
