We regularly visit here & it never disappoints. Clean, welcoming restaurant. Great menu with plenty of choice (could benefit from a more summery feel now, a salad or 2 perhaps). Steaks are fab, cooked perfectly & so tasty. Staff are attentive, friendly & knowledgeable. We...will definitely go again. Keep up the good work guys, an asset to Ashbourne.More

Visited today for Father’s Day and it was so lovely. Me and my husband ordered steak and it was the best we’ve tasted in a long time… Beautiful food and service in the heart of Ashbourne… Can’t wait to return soon

We are here on a first night in the area. The steaks were really good. The chicken wings not as good as we expected. But why it gets 5 stars is because when I tipped the waitress after the meal she came back with the...tip in cash to make sure that we I actually wanted to leave the tip. That level is honesty and care for the customer is unheard of. Great steaks but go there because of that attitudeMore

We booked a table on Saturday night, first available was 9.15pm bit late for us but sooo worth the wait, i had the pate which came with chutney , heaps of pate and four bits of toast, delish, hubby had the tbone, best he has...ever tasted, came with generous amount of chips, onion rings, well worth the price, i had the breast of chicken with haggis, equally as good, no room for desserts but they looked good too, next time we are in the area, defo be going back, i dont often review places but when we came home last night i was straight on the computer, staff are so pleasant and helpfulMore

Family birthday for 6 and on paper the menu looks great. Atmosphere ok although uncomfortable chairs. The burgers are not fresh. They’re obviously frozen. Odd chips which I’m not sure why they’re a “thing”. My pizza was absolutely awful. How can you get a ham...and pineapple so wrong. Not cooked enough. Wet and the ham was so salty and fatty I couldn’t eat it. The pineapple was basically tipped on from a can. I ate two slices. The fish and chips, beer batter was incredibly dark in colour but had a strange taste. Not crispy. It was cheap though. We didn’t have deserts as the mains were enough to put us off.More

Come here once every 5 years or so to meet a friend. Always good food. I had the beef and ale pie which was very good, with a side of dauphinoise. Pal had a surf and turf pizza which looked awesome - he said it...was good. Need to get there more often really. Friendly staff - let me put my bike behind the building for safe keeping.More

We were staying at the alton towers resort and wanted somewhere a little different to eat. Took a drive out and came across this little gem. Literally 15 minute drive from the resort. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff are so good, and really...attentive. The food, where do I start, Cooked to perfection and the portions are massive. I wish we had a place like this near to our home town. Can not wait to return.More

We booked to have a late lunch/early dinner ahead of an evening hike & so wanted proper food that would fill us. We were not disappointed!! We walked in to a warm welcome & fantastic service!! The food, well it was delicious, portion sizes were...generous & very well presented, but most importantly super yummy!!! Thanks so much for a great dining experience, we would definitely return if in Ashbourne again.More

We researched breakfasts in and around Ashbourne to start of our holiday in mayfield. We decided on here after reading reviews and we are glad we did. I had the vegetarian breakfast which was delicious and the poached eggs were perfect! It was also good...value! The staff were really friendly and the pub itself seemed very nice. My only complaint is that a vegetarian sausage would have been nice on my breakfast. I would definitely recommend and if ever In the area would return.More

Fantastic ribs. Shared a portion for two to start and they were amazing. Fillet steak actually came with a large amount of chips as well as onion rings, tomato and mushroom. A welcome change from many places nowadays that give you a steak, a sprinkle...of rocket and a handful of chips in a pencil cup. Friendly staff and good food. Definitely worth a visit.More

We went there with a GF friend and she had a fab steak. Just couldn’t have onion rings but they recommended a GF sauce for it.
