Re- visited for our tea. It was like a ghost town,no welcoming coal fire and they don't serve food anymore . Cold and unwelcoming. What a real shame.

Punch Taverns -(The owners of the Black Horse are to blame). There has been a succession of new landlords and were all promised that the kitchens would be refurbed but when it didn't materialise they left. The present landlady Lorraine and her family are nice people and make all welcome. The place has never been as clean. Despite the kitchen... More

Went there for a pint..didnt realise it had closed previously. It was now recently reopened..only one other customer there...staff hanging around doing nothing. This used to be a great pub serving good food...it has hit rock bottom now...needs a new owner willing to invest and do a refurb and get good food going...such a shame.

There has been a change in Landlords at the Black Horse, Cronton, Widnes and they are not currently doing food. There are apparently plans for 2016 , suggest you telephone ahead to see if they Have started doing food before going.

We havent visited the Black Horse as a family for some years but decided to give it a try this weekend for an anniversary meal. We were really surprised to find the place quiet for a sunny Saturday evening. There was a couple of tables in the bar area taken with people eating. We booked a table so were seated... More

Been twice in last 2 weeks. First time my wife and myself. Very satisfied so returned Saturday 15th August as a party of 8. Yet again greeted and served by Tracy and Matt and cannot fault any element of our visit. All starters, mains and sweet courses were hot, tasty and had generous portions. Chef took the time to liase... More
