We visited the Swan as a family group albeit an older one! The service was excellent and at a speed that allowed some leisurely conversation between courses. All five of us enjoyed our main courses. The desserts for those who chose to indulge was equally...More

Very quick visit for afternoon tea. Busy friendly place to call for a pint, cuppa, afternoon tea, snack, meal or overnight stay. Our first time in The Swan, but have previously visited The White Eagle and Oyster Catcher- in same ownership. Welcoming and worth a visit.

Awful experience here. The Cheshire hounds hunt met here on Boxing Day and we couldn’t even get near the door for hounds running riot and huntsmen being rude and crude. Completely ruined our Boxing Day and I shall never try to visit again!

Popped in early evening for drinks & dinner. Very busy but service was great & roast beef dinner was fantastic. Best I’ve had in a long time. Would definitely recommend & will return.

The Swan is a very lovely place with several cosy rooms of different sizes. The atmosphere is excellent and service good but we felt the food quality was only average and below what we expected of a place of this character in Tarporley.

Description
welcome you to The Swan, a traditional 16th century coaching-inn and guest house set in the heart of the historical village of Tarporley, Cheshire. With 16 en-suite guest rooms, The Swan has been an integral part of the community for over 400 years and its characterful original features, log fires and rustic décor all add to its ‘village pub’ charm. Take a seat and relax in one of the two bar areas as our friendly staff serve you a glass of your favourite tipple, whether a crisp Sauvignon or a cold pint of local ale. Those who find themselves in need of a quick bite can enjoy a tankard of chef’s finest pork crackling or one of our renowned giant scotch eggs. If you prefer a more leisurely experience, take a seat in one of the many nooks and crannies and enjoy a meal from our daily seasonal menu.
