The food we chose was very nice however, there is only a limited choice. The drinks menu has a lot more choice. Maybe that is intentional? Also the menu seems to have been the same for quite a while now. Suggest a refresh of the...More

This restaurant just gets better and better. The service is excellent, and the presentation of the food and attention to detail is superb. The atmosphere, particularly downstairs, is engaging. The ever expanding wine list is the best in the area. James, the owner will even...More

We visited Piste on a Sunday lunchtime when there is live music so the atmosphere is great. Nothing too loud, one guy and his guitar just added to the ambience. Lovely food, great service, can thoroughly recommend.

This is a lovely restaurant my only criticism is that the only sort of bread sold is flat bread and everything seems to come with rocket Salad which can be tiresome with every course and as an extra salad. I have been here many times...More

I go to Piste on a weekly basis as part of a weekly catch up with friends. The food and service is great with them always accommodating any of our requests. Drinks and great especially the cocktails and the Hugo is a favourite of mine!

I went on a Monday evening with a friend and had the set menu. Our dinner cost about £30 each including drinks and coffee, I think. Certainly I thought it was a good price at the time.

Description
Cheshire village Tarporley, although not well known for ski slopes, is home to Piste Wine Bar and Restaurant. Owners James Hughes and his brother-in-law Paul Bebe explain that the name started off as a joke but soon seemed, with its cosy ski chalet associations, to represent the rustic friendly feel they had in mind for the restaurant. The pair pride themselves on modern European cuisine using only the best ingredients; the beef is sourced from Aberdeenshire, the lamb from the Welsh Valleys and the pork is all from Lincolnshire. The fish is delivered daily from the Cornish coast, and many of the other ingredients are sourced from within Cheshire. With its open fireplace and hunting trophies, Piste is decorated in a style that could be described as homey. The menu, too, features classic, tasty fare like slow roasted meats and fish and chips, and more adventurous palates will enjoy dishes like the Thai style crab cakes.
