Expensive, real chips, portion size was ok but the cost of additional items was high, chips tasted greasy and not like fine in veg oil or dripping, may have been a nut oil, looks like they are twice fried as well so that may not have helped

Visiting Alderley Edge for the day we ate here lunchtime and I'm so glad we did, from a large menu which included John Dory and Seabass we chose cod which was fresh, white and flaky in really crispy batter the twice fried chips are extremely good and a generous amount so none of us wanted anot her portion for free.... Living in Aberdeen and part time in Penzance, I was very doubtful that I would be impressed by fish and chips from Cheshire, but I was amazed how excellent the fish and chips actually were here! Huge queue (maybe because of just being after the rugby?) but worth the wait and the service was great despite the rush. Great chips,... More

We were staying locally and passed this place on the way to dinner somewhere else, it was packed out, and the queue onto the street, a good indication we thought, Managed to get a table for two inside, there is a variety of fish such as John Dory, hake and seabass as well as the usual cod and haddock, we... I had heard about this place and was taken there by a 'local' this past week. Being in such an expensive village as Alderly Edge I was expecting a very trendy up market place but found that it was an 'ordinary' place, and all the better for it... Utilitarian fittings ('formica' tables etc) and easy clean walls. The staff were... More

After we decided to over indulge tonight and visit Fosters after hearing how good the gluten free fish was I was disappointed to find out they only do it on a Sunday. However the lovely staff when I asked if I could have the fish without the batter steamed it for me without hesitation. The fish and chips were delicious... More

We recently used the Bramhall shop and had some amazing Fand C'S. Alderley Edge proved to be just as good and we thought the haddock portions were slightly larger. Back soon!

Very nice traditional Fish and Chips at a reasonable price. Stayed at the De Trafford across the road and took them back to my room, though you can eat in if you wish

The fish & chips here are absolutely amazing. I would say possibly the best I have ever tasted. A must visit.
