Large group of us South Africans decided to have a bit of home away from home. Nice little place, good service and decent food (a little expensive and small portions-but overall good) Hubby raved about his chicken livers! I ordered a vegetarian curry dish and a friend ordered the Lamb Bobotie, I wish I had his rather- it was so... More

Really surprised at the standard of food in this little place. The SA wine could be less pricey but in all great place to relax and have a chat.

Six of us had dinner at The Cape shortly before Xmas. The food was very tasty and arrived promptly. The young waitress who served us was really first class, showed great maturity, and put up with our banter with a smile, despite the pressures of a busy evening in a full restaurant. We were all impressed!

Great menu for brunches. Always enjoy the eggs royale. Fab fresh smoothie/juices. Good coffee. Noticeable friction between staff on occasions. Lady who looks like an owner never seems to speak to customers, yet can appear sharp to staff - man who looks senior or owner is always gracious and good humoured. Definitely worth a visit. Great looking cafe. I'll certainly... More

First visit, staff very friendly and pleasant, food well presented and cooked to perfection. Did not realise that it was South African themed and not being a lover of wine from that country did not order a bottle. Would be nice if other countries were available. Not a criticism just a thought. Even French and Italian restaurants we visit have... More

We've been going there for over a year, it used to be brilliant, and half the staff are lovely. But over the last couple of visits we have been over charged without an apology and got given a terrible sandwich with half the ingredients missing, on nearly stale bread. We won't be going back and there are 3 competitors in... More

Had breakfast at The Cape. The name gives it away but the café/bistro has a South African theme. The service was very good and the food was very well presented and tasty even though it was a little bit on the expensive side. But saying that it was very popular with the locals and had a nice atmosphere

This place used to be a gem. Each meal felt like it was given care and attention. Now it just feels a bit rushed and the quality has dropped as a result. I had a steak sandwich which was O.K but was filled out with two big pieces of lettuce and lots of mayo. Just the sort of meal you... More

A superb brunch enjoyed with fantastic food, excellent service and great atmosphere. It was a superb place to catch up with friends as they had arrived in from Heathrow. Used to outstanding service in Dubai we all commented about the excellence here. Food was freshly made to order, beautifully cooked, drinks arrived shortly after ordering and boing was too much...
