The owner is from Kenya and he worked for Paul Prudhomme in New Orleans. The reviewer who did not like the spices on the fries was getting a Cajun/Kenyan treatment. Really interesting, changing menu. Best burger and fish and chips in Ajijic.
We went to Gossips for dinner, and enjoyed sitting in the outdoor section watching the traffic go by. The service was friendly and efficient. The chicken pot pie was excellent.
The margarita was also a very good Margarita. Prices were reasonable for.
Please post your hours and days of operation and a menu. This is the fourth restaurant in Ajijic I have gone to that is closed when I get there. I understand that you need a day off. Your prospective customers would like the courtesy of...knowing when that is. That and a current menu. Thanks.More
First visit this year to Gossips..Always a pleasant surprise..on the Special Of the Day Menu Board..
My husband had the Garlic Chili Shrimp n’ Grits..special..Perfectly cooked Shrimp..amped up with Southern Spices on a bed of Cheesy Grits..He thought he had died & gone to heaven..That...is how much he enjoyed his lunch...
I had the Caesar Salad...( think it is called ‘ Fork & Knife ‘ )..with corn bread croutons, perfect amount of creamy delicious Caesar Dressing & fresh grated Parmesan Cheese..I added Jerk Rub Grilled Chicken Beast..Perfect..
It is right on the corner..can be noisy..But if that is ok..sit outside & watch the world go by...Lots of seating inside..Either way..you will be very happy with the food & the service..More
I had a large bowl of gumbo with a side of corn bread. It was as good as any I've had anywhere, full of good sized shrimp, and appropriately spicy. I would definitely return here to try some of their other dishes
We stop at Gossips restaurant every now and then. Sometime for a meal, other times just for appetizers and a drink.
Great food and service is helpful.
It is a bit noisy since it sets right on the corner of a busy side street and...the main road / caraterra through town, but there is also indoor seating also.More
