After many Facebook posts about wonderful food we tried the special Thanksgiving menu for take out. Veggies were over cooked, small portion of turkey and mashed potato and exorbitant price for 2 small butter tarts. Will never return to this place.
Never going back!!! Service was as terrible and when we arrived we were the only diners but had to call the waiter FOR EVERYTHING. I ordered the beet and pecan salad and the Hungarian mushroom soup My husband the Filet. I ordered a glass of...Cabernet also. The wine came in a dirty glass. It was replaced quickly. When I tasted it it was as bad, old like the bottle had been left open or just bad. The was a real attitude with this waiter never a polite gesture just disgust. About the salad small raw beets very thinly sliced and not one sliver of a pecan. The soup was a bit salty and too much of some combination of dried herbs.
On the drink menu the vodka tonic is listed as one price. Our bill reflected an additional charge for the tonic as well a the glass of undrinkable wine. We spoke the chef Emmanuel about these charges and he refused to make an adjustment on our bill. No bread was offered. Some tasteless Bimbo muffins came with my soup.
This was our second visit since December. My husband was not impressed but I suggested we give it another try as we live nearby.
I’m not a dog person either but their bull dog kept sniffing and licking my feet. Dogs on the patio I can deal with but 3 dogs loose in the enclosed area of a restaurant I think it is just not An appealing addition.More
We ate last night at this wonderful restaurant. The chef/owner is creative and highly talented. We each had a different starter (muscles in an amazing sauce and the salad of the evening) Both were great but the salad dressing was a touch too sweet but...still great.
For entrees one of us had the Duck Confit in a barbacoa sauce and my table mate enjoyed the Lamb Roulade. Again both dishes were delicious & properly cooked. The presentation was quite special.
We each splurged and had the carrot cake which was exemplary and served in an elegant manner.
The Santo Tomas Temperanillo was an able accompaniment for the lovely meal.
Many Thanks for a wonderful evening.!More
Dined out with 3 friends last night for the first time since Covid. The restaurant adhered to all the safety guidelines issued by the authorities., which gave us a feeling of security. We each ordered a different dish and we all were delighted with our...choices. Not a crumb was left on any plate. Emmanuels talent is creative, his sauces are to die form his plating was great. Cant wait to follow that young but more than promising talent and hope he is successful in staying around for a long time to come.
The service was also great. Cant wait to go back .More
An evening at Emmanuel's has always been the best. Tonight we ordered Take out and enjoyed a special and delicious meal at home.
We loved the filet and the salmon cooked perfectly with fabulous sides. The Volcano cake was out of this world! Happy tummies...in not the sweetest of times. Thank you Emmanuel!More
In our group of 10 people, every dish was excellent. The portions are generous and the the food is delicious. The young chef Emmanuel could be in the middle of Manhattan and succeed. I was also impressed by good balance and variety of vegetables. We...will be back any time we visit Ajijic.More
Fancy food in a cheap deco place. Limited, but creative menu with fresh ingredients. I think they could invest a bit more in the place, specially in the bathrooms and furnitures. But back to the most important, the Food is Never dissapointing!!
We had a great dinner here last night - Lamb Tenderloin and Lamb chops. The meat was tender and juicy. The accompanying asparagus, brussel sprouts and corn were cooked to perfection !
We looked at the lunch menu for another day and will definitely return....One of the best dinners in Ajijic.
Thank you Emmanuel.More
We tried Emmanuel's new location that is 1 block west of the Tuesday Organic Market on the mountain side and had an amazing dinner. The space is larger now and lovely. I had the duck with raspberry sauce and my husband had the salmon. Everything...was delicious and satisfying and the wine that was suggested paired perfectly. We are really looking forward to going there for lunch. You will know that you are on their current website when you see the newly posted lunch hours and menus for both lunch and dinner. Thank you Emmanuel. You are a star!More
