The fish was good but nothing special. I had the grilled fish and it could use some spices on it. The price was a bit on the high side for fish and chips. The decor is very basic.

We have eaten at Lord Elgins several times, in all seasons. The fish and chips are consistent, they are always good. The coleslaw is nice, has more flavour than your typical slaw. The fish is fresh cooked, the batter is crispy, and the homemade fries are good and there is often a slick of grease on your plate when you... More

Went there for lunch with the Wife as I had heard such good reviews. Decided on the fish lunchtime special. The good: the staff , service and the chips. Not so good. The fish. Too much batter and not that tasty. Overall just average. Maybe my expectations were too high based on the reviews. I'm not expecting it to be... More

Atmosphere was good, staff was OK, but the food was average. Fish was bit oily and there was lot of batter. Not sure what was the light part in it? We were not impressed and don"t plan to visit this restaurant again.

We were passing through Port Elgin last week and happened to see Lord Elgin fish & chips restaurant so we stopped for lunch. It was the Monday all you can eat haddock & chips day so we all ordered that. It all was excellent. The fish was some of the best I've ever had, so was their coleslaw. The chips... More
