With my close friends, we had our dinner reunion in this restaurant. The location is in a plaza, so parking was not an issue. There was a reception area where they ask how many people are in the party. They seated us very quickly. The place was very busy for dinner, lots of people in every table. There was sufficient... Service really suck's. Placed drink order 3 times. Waited to be seated while the restuarant was empty. 3 "tables in succession voiced their displeasure at the lethargic service

Have been going to Makimono's in Pickering and Ajax for last 4 years. Over last couple of visits have found the quality of food, the selection and service has declined. The asian dishes are salty. The sashimi and sushi are okay but nothing spectacular. We sometimes don't even get dishes we have ordered. The value and quality just don't add... More

I went to Makimono at about 8PM and there were only a few tables occupied. Service was quick but I must admit I was a little surprised when the waiter notified me that there was a small charge for green tea. Then I was doubly surprised when the tea came out in a small pot of hot water and a... More

I would never come to this place ever again. I am (that's right, still waiting over 45 mins for the second set of order) here with my kids and waited 10 mins at the door to be seated by a very rude waitress. She had us sit and literally threw the utensils along with the wasabi and ginger on our... More

Been to this restaurant with friends for dinner several times. Went with family tonight (grandparents and young children too) and not impressed. Grandparents ordered a-la-cart and it was not great. We ordered all-you-can-eat...even though they wanted to charge $12 for 7yr-old, and $8 for the little ones (posted $15 for child at entrance). Fine. Wanted to order tea with the... More

Dropped in for a quick meal. I noticed that they have blocked one of the glass enterance doors. a good move. As I posted earlier, the enternaces were confusing. The place seemed a little busy for 2:00 PM. Sat down, got the order tablet and requested tea. We were informed that the free tea has been replaced by a premium... More

We come to this place probably 6-12 times a year. Always loved it. The server are nice and friendly. The menu selection is very good and the all-you-can-eat lunches include salmon sashimi, which my kids love. We dont have to wait for dinnertime (which costs more) to get that.

My husband loves sushi.I don't eat sushi but he wanted to have sushi since we were already in the Plaza to see a movie. We walked in and my husband said one buffet and one menu for my wife as she doesn't eat sushi. The manager basically embarrassed us and said ok no sharing not allowed. I proceeded to say... More

Went to newly renovated location in Ajax. Food was superior with impressive sashimi and hot dishes such as beef and broccoli - wonderfully prepared. Unlike other reviews, the water was almost immediate in crystal clear glasses, but Sapporo better. Yes, at times the dishes MAY have seemed a little 'hit and miss' on arrival times but it was minor when... More
