Interesting restaurant with a Scottish theme.Lots of antiques, dolls etc. Appears to be family run, has a good menu with daily specials and was popular with the locals.I have the mussels with garlic butter and the mussels and the sauce was excellent. My wife had scallops which she really enjoyed.Service was good and they had a good choice of beers.

Had a great meal, while being entertained by our Chef who told many tales during our visit. Well worth the time!

This was the best meal I ever had in a restaurant. Steak was excellent and the coleslaw hit my taste buds bang on. Conversation with the owner was great.

We were hungry and wondering where to eat as we were leaving Cape Breton Island. We stopped when we saw the Auld Brass Door. A gentleman welcomed us when we entered and ushered us to a table by the window. He also served us beer before retreating to the kitchen to cook. It was Sunday and although the waitress was... More

The service was good fodd was very good. The restaruant had a musty smell though. I think the carpet might have been the problem.

We had cheeseburgers and the fried scallops, both were delicious. Cheeseburgers were real meat, not frozen patties. I've never had so many scallops (at least 10). Service was faster than other places around here. Only thing that could use some tlc was washroom because it was small and out dated. Definitely would go back.

My mother and I were the only patrons in the resturaunt on a tuesday evening around dinnertime, we wanted to share an order of fish and chips as neither of us were particularly hungry and the waitress said that the chef would... Auld Brass Door fills exactly the void this area needs. It is quintessential Cape Breton, with a underplayed atmosphere. What the Door has going for it is Dick and Ann, who are great hosts. I didn't know what to expect as I read other reviews before I visited, but they made me feel like its been coming there for years.... More

We had a couple of hours left to drive and my wife and I noticed this restaurant in the middle of nowhere and decided to take a chance for a meal. Everything was amazing from the ceaser salad to the surf and turf. The steak was cooked perfectly and the seafood was plentiful and perfectly cooked. Anne was fantastic at... More

International Fare Wae A Cape Breton Flair aptly describes the menu which ranges from appetizers/salads/soups/burgers/pastas/seafoods/steaks and beyond...but always remember to leave room for dessert.
Taste our "quietly understated" Homemade chowders and then you be the judge as to who has the best chowder in Cape Breton.
Open later than others around and with "wing nights till 2.00A.M on fridays and saturdays".
