We ate at the Red Shoe Pub and it was excellent. Great menu and the beer selection was good. The patio is really nice on a summer day. Wish we could have made it there for a live show. The prices were really reasonable too.

Several years ago I came to Inverness and passed the Red Shoe. I wondered at the time what it was like and now, after two dinners and three nights of music, I know. Two of the music nights were great Scottish fiddle music and one...More

Pure Cape Breton! The music is special, energetic and foot stomping! We sat next to the piano and had appetizers and drinks, visiting with our Mabou friends. Soon after the concert began at 4PM we ordered dinner, and stayed until 7PM. (there is a cover...More

I would rate this place just average. It is very busy so long wait to get in. We were a group on nine but split into two groups to get tables quicker. We were hoping to hear live music but unfortunately there was no one...More

This place was recommended to us by a friend and also our b&b host. We really enjoyed it, although it seems to always be super busy and hard to get in once the music starts, so go early. We ended up sharing a table with...More

Recently visited the Red Shoe with my parents and in laws. Everyone had something different on the menu and not a complaint could be heard. People quite enjoyed the meatloaf and others rally liked the scallops. There was live entertainment while we were there which...More

We stopped at The Red Shoe Pub for lunch. We enjoyed our drinks and meals and could sense that this must be a really lively venue for live music in the evenings. The service was friendly and efficient, and the prices were fair. I had...More

This is a very popular place to listen to a ceilidh. We parked on the street. When we entered we realized that this is a small place. They don't take reservations we waited for an hour to sit down at 6:45 pm. There were multiple...More

My wife and I stopped at the Red Shoe Pub for a light lunch and were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and the menu provided a good selection of traditional pub style food for both light and full meals plus a variety of...More

We were concerned this would turn out to be tourist trap based on reviews and popularity, but we left feeling we'd just been part of the community. When the entertainer surveyed the audience, most were from "away," but there was a real sense of community....More

I don't believe they take reservations. When there's music, I'd suggest you arrive an hour before the performance begins because the main room fills up quickly. The Red Shoe also has a nice covered patio area where you can... More

Description
We stumbled accross this place this past Saturday, which was the day after it had opened for the season. They are only open from June until October. It is very quaint, and it has the very best seafood chowder of anyplace we found in Nova Scotia or PEI. The waiter was super nice to our group, and honest in admitting he had only started the day before, and hadn't tried all the items on the menu yet. He went back to the chef on a couple of occasions to ask if he could change a menu item for us (which they did), and was very attentive to our lunchtime needs. This is a really good restaurant and should be added to Trip Advisor. Thanks, John Ward Smith
