Stopped in here for dinner while in town on recommendation of the B&B owner. Unfortunately they were all out of moose (which my husband was on the look out for), so we had the local shrimp plate instead. The local shrimp are the tiny kind but the serving was huge, fresh and they tasted great, If I went back I... More

This is a wonderful little restaurant - a great place for lunch if you are doing the Viking Trail. We had the chowder and a sandwich - both were excellent. The outside of the restaurant has a nautical theme and that is carried through to the inside decor. The menu is nicely varied and there should be something for everyone.... More

A lovely little cafe. The front of the cafe is a boat with a wooden fisherman standing beside it.The inside of the cafe is astastefully decorated as the outside is cute. The waiter was a lovely out going person who immediately made us feel welcome. Food is excellent. The fish chowder is wonderful.

This is the place to come for cold water shrimp. I had the shrimp sandwich and chowder combo. It was excellent. Others in our group who did not eat seafood found the menu varied enough that they could find good things to eat. The decor inside and outside the cafe is very interesting.

One of our favorite restaurants on our trip. We stopped on the drive back to eat here again. The panfried cod is great, the sticky pudding is great, the mooseburgers are interesting.

I had a delicious bowl of french onion soup and salad but my friends had hot turkey dinners which they all said wasn't very tasty. Turkey was not freshly cooked but tasted like frozen and tawed in a microwave which made it rubbery. But i am sure most of their menu items looked good as they were served to others... More

Ben Ploughman at Ben's Studio (reviewed by me separately) recommended Anchor Cafe to us. Well, Ben is slightly biased because the place is owned and run by his third cousin......But we went and weren't sorry at all!! The service was friendly and efficient. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant. What more do you need? We... More

Nice little fisherman's wharf type motive, no real cook here. Everything is fresh, but out of moose so don't restock because end of season?! Charged me a dollar for hot water? Don't have the shrimp burger or other shrimp products. Could make it better at home. Only option is cod or fish and chips. Guess Newfoundland has oversold itself this... More

What a wonderful little cafe. Unique design with the bow of a boat as the front of the cafe with patio. Quaint and homey inside. Waitress very friendly. We had the cod fish & chips along with seafood chowder and shrimp salad sandwich. Delicious! Highly recommend getting off the 430 just to have a meal here. We will be back... More
