My wife and I live in Cobble Hill. We bought from the Chippery quite often and we both always touted the Chippery to our friends and associates as being the best in the area. We went there tonight expecting our usual treat and was rudely awakened to the fact we will never go there again. The service was awful, the... More

Thank you so much for telling us of your experience. I regret that I did not get a chance to talk to you personally at the time to correct your situation. Somethings I can explain, such as the pricing. Although the menu prices have increased it is due to cost of operation. Groceries, wages, and overhead expenses have all gone... More

The Chippery is a good place for small gatherings to get together and share a coffee, snack or a meal. Menu is not outstanding and the food is about average.

First strike was a takeout order that was missing items that we had very clearly ordered and paid for. Not just one item but 3!! Then the owner had the audacity to argue with me over what we wanted. We just wanted what we paid for. And maybe an apology for me having to drive all the way back there... More

It would take a lot for me to give a fish and chips place anything more than a 3. The menu is - like every other fish'n chips place - a long list of items that can be fried. Sorry - frying something up and putting it on a plate with a paper cup full of tartar sauce isn't going... More

Thank you for your review Mark. I appreciate that you took the time to let us know your opinion. It matters to us. You are right. Most Fish & Chips shops do deep fry most of their items. It's the nature of our business. However, we do offer grilled fish as well (cod, halibut, salmon, shrimp skewers) and it can... More

Kitery, our server, made the afternoon for us! What a jem. We stopped in for fish and chips and had lemonade. I believe the lemonade was hand squeezed it was so good. Other beverages are available as well as spirits. The food was great. Very small seating area is used very well. Thanks again Kitery!

Twice this summer Patty and staff came to our rescue when we suddenly had 13 on one occasion and 15 on another for dinner. A call with a plaintive "please help" was met with "absolutely" and everyone here was soon enjoying a hearty meal of fish and chips. Thank you again. You are a bonus to our community.

We were staying nearby and wanted a light meal. There aren't that many tables if you're eating in but the menu was surprisingly long. Maybe a little slow and disorganised - it was busy. The food was worth the wait - a cut above chippies in the UK. Just don't expect it to be a good place for a dinner... More

Thank you for joining us at the Village Chippery. Yes, it can get busy and appear to be disorganized. We do a great volume of take out as well as serve ice cream out the front window and with a small shop people are always coming and going. Although it may not be your first choice for a date night,... More

We had a large order to go. Everyone loved their fish and chips, especially the variety of fish available. Very friendly staff, too.

We recently moved to the area, and stopped in to pick up lunch on our way to the airport. We had the halibut and fries and coleslaw, all were very hot and delicious, and portions were very generous. We were short on time and they had our order ready very quickly. We will be visiting this local gem of a... More
