We were in Waynesville visiting some antique malls. When lunch time rolled around we got a recommendation for this restaurant from the mall employees. We were not to be disappointed. In summary: Great home cooking, generous portions, good service, at a reasonable price.

Restaurant has been there for many years and each time I go its been hit or miss with food quality, have had wonderful meals and sometimes disappointed. Friendly staff and has a small town feel so if you want a quick bite this place is just ok.

Stopped in for supper after a long day riding through the mountains. It's exactly what you expect when you pull up, just good home cooking at a good price. The fried chicken was great and the hot open- faced roast beef sandwich was more than one person could eat. Try the pies. I just did not have room left.

We have eaten at Clyde's several times when we visit the area and have never been disappointed with our meals. The food is very good and there is plenty of it! Truly a good place to go for home-style comfort food. We particularly enjoy the burgers and fried chicken but have had delicious breakfasts there as well. There is always... More

After driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway, we worked up an appetite and pulled into this restaurant. The parking lot was full so we thought the food must be good. It sure was! We chose the Sunday special of turkey. The sides were delicious and a good selection to chose from. Everything was tasty, it was served fast and the... More

We were in the mood for fried flounder and we both ordered that. It was just fair. The service was great and the staff very friendly. Excellent fresh salad served with homemade dressings and Captain's wafers ( it's a southern thing if you're not from the south it's like a buttery saltine cracker). The food looked and smelled good; I'd... More

Good food and plenty of it. This place is always packed. They have a wide variety of food. It's old fashioned and everyone goes here. T h e price is very reasonable.

All of the locals seem to gather here. The food was great and priced very reasonably. The omelets are amazing . The coffee is also great. It might be the mountain water and the mountain air, but it was all good. I look forward to going back.

Went for breakfast while having my car serviced. Cashier greeted me with a less than enthusiastic reception. I sat at the counter directly in front of the kitchen and was totally ignored for some time and finally served. The food was average with nothing standing out. This place may be for just what it offers a place where the locals... More
