IF you are looking for a fresh made sandwich, piled high with your favorite fixins, look here. They are at the corner of 105 at the light

Whenever I am in Boone, I make 1861 part of my trip - it is my favorite sandwich shop in the area. I normally stop to grab a sandwich to toss in my backpack before heading to the parkway or Hebron for a hike. I've never been disappointed. I normally build my own sandwich, but they have lots to choose... More

I have eaten here for years until it was sold to another owner. The food is alright (not as good as before though) but the atmosphere and customer service have dropped soooo much. The woman who took my order was incredibly rude. I've worked in retail and customer service and would never treat even rude people the way she treated... More

The rudest lady works at the counter here. There are so many nice local places to eat in this area. It's a shame they are the only place on a busy corner and get any business at all. The sandwich was good, but crazy overpriced. We picked up food and were eating it the winery down the road. A couple... More

The 1861 Deli has really good sandwiches but they are very expensive. For tourists. A sandwich was $8.00 and a half was $4.00 There is no where to eat inside the deli. The staff was very friendly. Very Overpriced.

My family had never been to the area before, and we were driving around trying to find someplace to grab something quick to eat in the car. There are no drive-thru's in the area, which adds to its charm, but we just didn't have time for a sit-down restaurant. So when I saw the "sandwiches" sign I pulled in on... More

We have made this "whole in the wall" a regular stop whenever we are near Boone / Valle Cruis. We love to get custom sandwiches from here and go down the road to the community park in Valle Cruis.

We ate a turkey on toasted sourdough with fresh spinach and applewood smoked bacon with tomatoes. It was delicious. When you walk in the door there is a table with menu cards. Full one out and they will make it for you. It is so fresh and good. Also a great place to pick up a sandwich before hiking or... More

This is the best sandwich shop anywhere, you will not be disappointed. So many menu items for sandwiches. So nice to take out for picnic in Valle Crucis park. Many nice jellies, jams, and fruit butters. The homemade desserts are also great. Enjoy one of my favorite stops.

This store makes pretty good sandwiches when they are ordered so they are not sitting around getting soggy. It was pretty good, but for almost $9 per sandwich, I expected to be wowed and I wasn't. Good quality meats.
