This was one of the only year round inns in Little Switzerland, where we wanted to stop and hike the mountains & waterfalls on our road trip from Michigan to Florida. We were delighted to arrive right at sunset and catch the AMAZING view of the mountains at dusk! The owners are super helpful and nice giving us a bunch... More

Sadly we found out that this restaurant is for motel guests only. So although there were people in the restaurant, they were not serving people coming off the street. So I'm not sure why it is listed as a possible restaurant, when it is only part of a package. They directed us to the Mountain View, down the street.

The building has great character. The owners and staff do too. We had dinner here and what a surprise! I had the chicken with herb sauce, asparagus, and watermelon salad. All cooked to perfection. The bourbon pecan pie was even better. They are open for limited hours

The owners have gone to great pains to keep improving the hotel in the off season and this year is no exception... looks great.. especially for some odd 100 years old. Best of all .. the beds are really comfortable and the prices are very reasonable. Rooms include a nice breakfast as well. Friendly bar with great local beers on... More

We spent one night of our honeymoon at this wonderful little treasure off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Built in the 1940's, the new owners have done a fabulous job at restoring to its original(if not better) splendor. Rooms are generous in size. The wood work was amazing! Beautiful décor. Very, very Clean. We had the meatloaf and kale salad for... More

On a recent 5 day stay, we had breakfast here every morning. Juice, coffee or tea and then either a large portion of eggs, potatoes, toast and smoked bacon OR pumpkin pancakes. The place is clean and comfortable and, since this was the off-season and we were staying at the inn, Mike --- the owner/operator/chef --- had it all ready... More

I liked everything about this restaurant. I had the pulled pork sandwich, which Mike said he slow cooked for 20 hours. Made with tender loving hands. The pumpkin waffles were worth coming in October for. Made a believer out of me that they were as good as I'd heard.

We had stayed at the inn overnight and had gone down for a hearty breakfast before setting out on our travels. Great breakfast made by the owner. Bacon, eggs, & pumpkin waffles to die for! Price was very reasonable. Very interesting conversation with Mike regarding the history of the inn.

We had printed the directions to Skyline Motel while researching motels along the Blue Ridge Pkwy. It sounded wonderful, built with moonshine money, recently renovated, etc. But when we pulled up, I very quickly changed my mind due to the outside appearance. I really wanted to check it out, but we were tired and looking for a clean place to... More
