If you come to Moore County NC the other great coffee shop is Java Bean. They have great coffee and muffins are homemade. The mocha pecan is my favorite. The owners are friendly and surroundings are comfortable and they even have nice outdoor seating for those sunny Carolina days!

That's what you'll say when you take a seat in this funky little cafe in charming Southern Pines. Either out on the veranda or inside in the eclectic sitting room or the sun porch, the Java Bean Plantation is as relaxed and easygoing as its owner, Rich. If you happen to arrive when he's roasting--which is not unlikely--you'll enjoy the... More

It's in a great location and has a nice ambience to it. Outdoor seating or a little cozy sitting room inside. However, the coffee is just ok.... nothing outstanding, nothing to rave about. If you like McDonald's coffee or 8 oclock coffee, well this might be your place, ok? Folks are friendly, coffee is average.

Java Bean is my favorite coffee shop! The coffee is excellent and the atmosphere is very comfortable. Outside on the deck on a good weather day or inside when it's not. What's happening around town is always posted. The bagels and muffins are excellent too! Coffee beans or grind are also available for purchase. They have soy and almond milk... More

The Java Bean serves wonderful coffee that I believe they roasted. Nice, comfortable atmosphere. We didn't eat there but the food looked good.

Nothing special, just a little coffee shop on the edge of downtown Southern Pines. $9.00 for a cappuccino, pumpkin spice latte and a bottle of orange cream soda. Better than Starbucks.

I stopped in here because it looked interesting and I was not disappointed. Great coffee in a very laid back and casual atmosphere. There are several small seating areas, so you can have some space alone or near others. Since I like to drink coffee and chat I sat near some locals who were very friendly and I had a... More

This cozy cottage on the corner is chocked full of coffee. The staff is wonderful and personable. There are some toys and books to keep smaller kids entertained. Overall, a great place to visit or hangout. Oh yeah....and they have the best coffee in town.

I just visited the Java Plantation yesterday for the first time and I loved it. The tiny cottage they are in is so cozy and cute. The atmosphere made me want to just hang out all day. The prices were also wonderfully affordable. I think it has instantly become one of my favorite hangout spots!

A friend and I were in Southern Pines in October this year from the UK and sought out the Java Bean....very glad we did. Coffee and staff were both excellent. They used their own roast and made with water at just the right temperature ie not scalding the coffee....picky you may think but none of the bitterness one sometimes experiences.... More
