Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Three of our group had waffles. Two were very overcooked and all had a strong taste of baking soda. The cream was good but could have done with more strawberries. The pot of tea for two was small. When we asked for more hot water...in the pot of tea we were told they don’t normally do it and didn’t refil fully. Carrot cake a little dry. Fruit toast was nice.More

One of the few cafes in the township open until 5pm, we first discovered it for lunch, demolishing an Angaston beef pie, the beef featuring Yalumba shiraz, and a quiche lorraine with salade. The quiche was perfectly fine but the Angaston pie drew us back...two more lunchtimes in a row! You can have it with tomato sauce or with a side salad, each time it was excellent. Staff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Observed the local residents popping in and out quickly at lunch to purchase takeway pies and pasties. We also tried their apple and fresh cream boston doughnut (yum) and an apple crumble. Highly recommended!More

Beautiful tasting pies. Full of flavour. Just what you need when hunger hits. Coffee was nice and got an excrllent flat white not a fluffy flat white. Barista knows her job. Also has a bathroom which was good.

I highly recommend D&M’s caffe and bakery to family’s. It has a variety of food and drinks to please the pickiest of eaters, it has a wide variety of snacks, pies and baked goods, drinks and slightly more substantial food. We visited it twice in...the 5 days we were in the Barossa and had very good service and food both times. This cafe is popular to the locals and busy, but the staff are well organised and serve you as quickly as possible. The caffe has a very friendly feel to it and is definitely enjoyable for kids. The only thing I would change is the information on the menus, the menus don’t provide clear information of the ingredients included and could be dangerous if you have allergies. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant this is not for you. But overall I was very pleased with D&M’s and recommend it to people of all ages.More

We had heard of this bakery and was assured that it was one of the best. Being in the Barossa we decided to journey to Angaston and find out for ourselves. It was a Saturday and was at lunchtime, so the display cabinets were starting...to look a tad empty. Little did we know that there was an extended menu high on the wall behind the service area. We opted for a pie each and coffees. It took an inordinate time for the staff member to get the order correct and when delivered found that a coffee had been missed. The service was slow and not really friendly at all. The coffees were average and for us too mild. The pies had a great pastry but that’s all. The meats were chewy and in a thick gelatinous gravy that wasn’t really hot. We were disappointed! Return? At this stage no and would seek alternate places in Angaston to eat.More

We stopped at D & M's Bakery Cafe for a late lunch on a Saturday. The grilled vegetable baguette was fresh and tasty, and the milkshakes very good. The staff was friendly. We'd dine here again.

We come for afternoon tea with a friend. There is a small range of cakes to choose from. Our drinks are brought to us, and everything is satisfactory, but there is nothing really memorable about our visit. Perhaps I was just tired!

Order toasted sandwiches off their numbered menu so nothing out of the ordinary so far it has been 45 minutes, food will need to be remarkable to compensate for the wait But I feel considering a 15 yr old waking it, it won’t be worth...the wait. When selling food at a cost of $60 you would expect a professional cook. Food has now half arrived and is only just ok Would not recommendMore

Really good vanilla slices ... great jelly cakes ... really delicious chocolate mousse cakes (single serves). Croissants can be nice ... though check they are today's - I have had one experience where they were day-old and very stale ... always check ...
