Although set price menu included wine, tried to say they had run out of house wine and would not offer alternative wine. They eventually offered a beer and one glass of wine, we had to ask for this is was not offered. When meal came, we were told it would be clams, and they served up mussels, expecting us not... More

We had been two nights in Trapani and we had been twice in Locanda dei Frati. Main reason was that they also offer gluten-free food (for my wife). The food turned out to be excellent; kitchen and service are very good. The restaurant was quite frequented by locals. The restaurant may charge you more for fresh fish (whatever this means);... If you have any sense of how good fish tastes, don't get near this restaurant. After heavenly food experiences in Rome, Naples and Palermo, we thought this Trapani restaurant could be added to our list of excellence. Although the service was ok, the main dish (recommended by the waiter and supposedly freshly cooked) was a huge disappointment. The side dish... More

We went there on Saturday and the place was very crowded. We were a group of 8 so we decided to book in advance. Pizza was good and also the gluten free pizza was appreciated by a friend of us. People was very friendly.

One of the best pastas we ever had - it convincingly celebrates the Sicilian way of perfectly complementing pasta with a tasteful sauce! We can highly recommend to test it yourself.

In the old part of Trapani, it looks, feels and is Sicilian. Served by Angelo - nice guy, speaks English he said I was Mario Monti! There was a local family party who almost included us in their celebrations and added to the atmosphere. We were offered fresh fish and that's what we got - cooked to perfection and really... More

If you are not a local -never mind if you speak a decent Italian- and you want to be treated as a tourist (overpriced and underserviced) than this is the place for you. The place was hosting a local wedding dinner so the rest of the tables got a second rate service (especially in terms of waiting). The waiter would... More

My wife and I have just spent a few days in Trapani and we visited this restauant twice. The first time was in the evening on Easter Sunday and the place was packed (mostly locals) but we did not regret having to stand for over half an hour to get a table. The great food and the friendly and hospitalble... More

We ordered bruchetta mista and antipasti rustica for starters, the bruchettas were mearly toasted and the tomatoes tasted and looked like they were directly from the can, they were all of the same type, mixed!?, the antipasti rustica contained two pieces of the bruchetta some olives directly from the jar, some tasteless cheese and a tasty eggplant. As main coarse... More
