If you are looking for a step back in time try Paul's. This is not a gourmet hotdog place. You order at the counter and wait about 3 minutes. The relish is what makes these dogs as well as the split top rolls. If a little grease bothers you go somewhere else but good old fashion goodness try Paul's.

We have passed by this restaurant several times and didn't stop....but we finally did! The hot dogs were different from any that I have had before but we enjoyed them! This place has lots of history and many....many folks stopping to eat! The folks were friendly....the food was tasty.....and they had cherry coke!!!! What more could you ask for!!!

We were there and ate. I was very disappointed. The chilli was terrible and I could not finish eating it. Don't waste your time and money

I use to live down the road from Paul's Place. The few times that I went there, the place reeked of old grease that hasn't been changed or cleaned since they opened. The hot dogs just aren't good.....and the sides tasted like bland, day-old "quick menu fillers". Although the food was less than desirable, the sell ice cream. My kids... More

Paul's Hot Dogs is a local's paradise and a tradition for many of us UNCW Grads that would travel between Wilmington and Raleigh before 1-40 was completed. Paul's has been in business since 1926 and the staple is a steamed hot dog in roll sliced down the middle. All the way includes chili, mustard, relish and onions. A hotdog, fries... More

The people were nice and I'm sure some locals enjoy their local hotdogs, but for us it definitely wasn't worth going out of the way. The hotdogs were over boiled and waterlogged. The famous relish is extremely sweet and I'm pretty sure the chilli was straight out of a can.

Why else would you go to Paul's Place, a restaurant that has been around f/a very long time, always selling hot dogs. & you can have them any way you want, even ways you never thought you would see a hot dog served. I like this place, which is not fancy, but serves great food. I have only ever eaten... More
