Celebrated my birthday with dinner at BuKu. Reservation was seamless. Our server was delightful and answered all of our questions. Food was amazing for vegans and carnivores. Will dine here again.

You have to invite at least 20 + people to subsidize the price of the menu you will be ordering. I visited this place to host an organization event with NAAAP. I paid almost $300 for 5 dishes and 2 drinks to share with 12 people.

We've gone here several times with friends for dinner and always enjoyed ourselves. Usually we'll order several of the small plates and 1 large plate to share and everything I've eaten here has been tasty!

My fourth time at BuKu was as good as each of the other three times. The restaurant specializes in the finest examples of street foods found around the planet. The ramen was made with a 24 hour shoyu brith, crispy pork belly, wakame and slices of pork. Rich and satisfying, served promptly, we walked away very happy.

Good locale for a bite to eat before a performance. Pad Thai was good, priced at $23. Probably wouldn't go back, not because of anything wrong. It just wasn't outstanding or memorable in any way.

Four of us stopped in for lunch on a Saturday before a matinee show. It is a certainly an upscale place with outside and inside seating. We chose inside and were one of the few at 12:30 pm but by 1:30 there were several more parties. The hostess was not that friendly but our waiter was friendly, helpful and provided... More

Food was awesome. Sunday Brunch was very good and they had a large selection of food. Would definitely visit this restaurant again.

I've done plenty of fine buffets in my time, and while BuKu's Sunday brunch is no Bacchanal at Caesar's, neither is it Golden Corral cattle-feeding either. A nice assortment of sides and salads of varietal cultures, and a superb omelet and waffle station highlight their best offerings. Must say I was surprised that there was nary a seafood item in... Located at the corner of Wilmington and Davie Streets in the heart of downtown Raleigh, bu•ku is a local restaurant that tells a global story. The name "bu•ku" itself is an international slang twist on the phrase, "Merci, beaucoup" meaning, "Thank you very much." Inspired by the pushcarts of street vendors across the globe, our chefs harvest an array of unique and distinct flavors and present them authentically, in a virtual kaleidoscope of plates. The common link: these are foods that people love. Working within different regional traditions, our menu brings together complex and flavorful dishes that have been honed over generations. Foods like Polish pierogis, Colombian arepas, and Thai barbecue prawns served in a banana leaf with green papaya salad can be found on the street corners of Warsaw, Bogota, and Bangkok. We strive to convey the immediate thrill a traveler feels eating foods like these as they first cross over the cart and exchange hands into the urban setting.
