The name might strike you as a little odd -- who would want to eat at an unsanitary restaurant? The name notwithstanding, the Sanitary Fish Market & Restaurant is a fixture of the Morehead City waterfront. You simply haven't been to Morehead City if you...More

This place is a local icon that's been around forever. You'll get descent food and service. The view is nice on the water and you can enjoy boats cruising by most times of the year. Expect dockage to be limited in the high seasons if...More

My husband and I went in for dinner. The waitress was very helpful, provided awesome service (no empty glasses) and was super nice. She gave us her honest opinions on her favorite items on the menu. The food came out hot and prepared just to...More

Food average, not good value for the price. Atmosphere good if you can get a table overlooking the water. Go there just to say you have been, their t-shirts bring immediate attention in many places.More

We came to Morehead city to shop and decided to eat at The Sanitary Restaurant. We have eaten here before, but it had been a while. It was good, ordinary. None of the seafood was spectacular. Clam chowder is not cream-based. The broth is very...More

We ate there last weekend for dinner and saw the Christmas annual Flotilla pass by along the waterfront.. The food was very good and portions are hefty. The service was even better than the food. The prices are similar for other beach/ocean side dining. They...More

Service was not great. Food was not good at all. Shrimps and scallops were tiny and rubbery like some fast food restaurants. Price was high . Will not go back again.

No steamer pots. Most all seafood selections are local catch and fresh. Don't pass this place up. Try the shrimp salad, I buy it by the quart to take to my mom. But keep it on ice.
